Let's Fix It: The MCU
Literally all I can ask for are Good Villain or above Average. Everything else is decent or great as is.
Yes, tone down the humor SLIGHTLY, not a LOT, but just a little bit less would be nice. Especially, in some of the movies (looking at YOU Ant Man)
I personally don't think the villains need to be better per se just more menacing or an actual threat.
Make a character's sequel films something that both continues the overall plot towards Thanos and the Infinity Gems while also being good enough to be stand-alone films.
More intriguing villains. They should balance the use of jokes too, like they kinda did in Civil War and TWS.
Lol is there a Lets fix it: DC edition?? I need to see that lol I got a full list
Well there's Let's Fix It: BvS
They need to be more consistent with their villains. I feel like Loki, Ronan, Malekeith, Thanos and Red Skull were all really good. Outside of that the villains have been subpar.
Not so generic villains, give them a personality. That's why people like Loki so much.
Red Skull has slight personality, but it's not explained why he's evil at all.
Iron Monger was slightly understandable, but still quite boring.
Malekith has no personality. Just wants total darkness.
Ronan wasn't a man of integrity, instead was a moody tough guy who hated a certain race and wanted more power.
I don't even remember the villain in Iron Man 2 lmao.
Iron Man 3 villain was a joke, "I'm the Mandarin"... piss off.
Ultron was NOT what the trailer suggested he was, even the TV show did him better. Still had personality, just not his one.
Bucky was... The Winter Soldier. I enjoyed that film and it all made sense, Peirce was okay but no background again.
Yellow Jacket was obvious and random. Generic.
Zemo was a smart character, although he confused me because at the start I thought he hated Hydra but ended up hating The Avengers instead. It would have been nice to see him put on his suit, I was waiting for it for the whole film tbh.
And they need to stop de-powering strong characters, just find a way to make it work another way. Thor is constantly weak and in Age of Ultron he fell over due to a small explosion a few meters in front of him. I suppose he will be stronger in Ragnarok, as will Hulk.
Still love the MCU though, just don't like how their villains are so generic.
Aside from better villains, make Thor feel important. He has not gotten a solid movie yet, and his appereance in the avenger movie seem small overall including the one where his brother is the villain. Over all he is a decent character, is not like he is horrible, but I would like him to leave a bigger impact.
consensus seems to be a need for better villains.
Loki was great, as was Red Skull; considering Hugo Weaving only had a single film to develop his character. (loki/Hiddleston had 3) Cap and Bucky's relationship from friend to enemy to friend was well made imo also; not really a true villain though.
But really apart from those, all others do fall terribly short. All of Ironman's villians are very one dimensional yawns and Ant-man's Yellowjacket/Cross is just as boring. They only serve as a person for the hero to hate/punch on, and then their gone, granted Ant-man had to develop a new full cast within 90-min and give them all some character. (which i feel they did well; for the most part)
As others have said, less humor. Age of Ultron was beyond stupid how they spent more time making quips than advancing anything resembling a plot.
Humors good in small doses or if it fits the character to be joking all the time (Deadpool and Spiderman come to mind), but to have every character doing it all movie long regardless of how serious the situation is makes me want to rage.
Also as others have said, better villains. DC can do it, Fox can do it (even in their less than stellar efforts like Fantastic Four), Sony was able to do it. Why can't Marvel make a movie with a villain that isnt completely forgettable? The closest that they came to was Ironman 3, then it turned out to be a fakeout the entire time so they could introduce the real villain who has 0 motivation shown and is instantly forgettable.
Finally and most importantly, learn to cut your friggin movies, especially the Avengers ones. Age of Ultron is unwatchable because the fight scenes are so chaotic and terribly cut that I literally have no concept of whats happening where at any time. Quick cuts are fine sparingly, but the Marvel movies have friggin Michael Bayed the crud out of themselves with how often they use quick cuts. If I can't get a mental top down image of whats going on, you've failed as a director.

well Ant-Man was intended to be an action comedy as was Guardians so can you really blame them
@avenging_x_bolt: I know it was, but there was one point , at least, where Ant Man took it just a little too far and almost made it a groaner rather than an action comedy. For me anyway ;)
@asgardianbrony: I actually like the idea of Asgardians being interdimentional beings who were wotshiped by ancient humans out of ignorance. Marvel Comics actually did a story that more or less confirmed the same thing in the comics, it was revealed that the Asgardians were always controlled by higher beings, forcing them to go through the Ragnarok cycle giving those beings power.
There's nothing to really fix. If you don't like it, more power to you.. if you do, well more power to you as well.
When people say "fix" when talking about the MCU or DCEU they really mean "change something they don't like". :P
Age of Ultron, and the Thor series were pretty crappy and are in desperate need of fixing.
@heroup2112: fair enough
- Nerf MCU Captain America down and remove the Russoforce on him. Seriously, he's just an enhanced human yet he can pull up a large piece of debris. It's not just enhanced human, its already superhuman. How about Russoforce making Iron Man or Thor more powerful (big three)? Would that be good?
- Make a Thanos a very tough villain and even cause massive destruction. It will make us more chilled.
- Lesser humor please
- Get rid of inconsistency
- And a darker tone for the next movies.

Yes, they should enhance Thor but not Iron-Man.

Agree.

Don't worry, the Russos are in charge now.

Depends on the movie but yeah I agree.
I don't want to say less humor because we didn't saw humor in Civil War (maybe a little bit but not to much).
Make characters like Hulk, Thor and Iron-man stronger.
Make it Darker like in netflix.
Better Villains (which is why I'm happy with Sony and Marvel working together on Spider-man movie because Siny has some decent Villains).
And let Asgardians be gods.
Also give more feats of Intellect to Banner and Stark.

Give Bruce Banner a personality. I mean really, it's like they are purposefully keeping him a blank slate just so we can pretend Ed Norton is still the actor.
Thank you!

Actor said he would want to play Zemo again and some MCU producer said that Zemo's appearance in Civil War is more like a prelude for his appearances in future movies so we may see more of Zemo.
Okay, they've met the standard for what makes great comic book films.
Now if they can just stop being complacent and aim to make great films overall.
Their problems aren't just with plot and characters. I'd say that's where they excel at since the source material's already all but written out for them. They just need to translate it better.
I've noticed most of the films have little to no replay value, probably because the cinematography and overall design is almost always just enough to get the plot along. And once you've seen all there is to the characters and plot, there's hardly any reason to see the whole thing all over again. They need a director with a more definite style, something like Burton and Nolan did for the Bat films.
