Sources report that Disney is looking to reboot the Indiana Jones franchise and who do they want starring?

None other than Star-Lord...CHRIS PRATT!

EXCLUSIVE: Here’s one from the helluva good idea department. Marvel offerings are soaring, and Star Wars is being reinvigorated by director JJ Abrams. Now, Disney has just started to turn its attention to reviving the Indiana Jones franchise after buying the rights from Paramount in 2013. I’m cautioned that while things are very early, I hear the studio has set its sights on Chris Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around, the role made famous by Harrison Ford in Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Pratt jumped to leading-man movie status with his performance in last year’s blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy for Marvel and Disney. He starts The Magnificent Sevenwith Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua in April for MGM and Sony, and there’s the inevitable Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel. Disney won’t comment and all this is admittedly early, so let’s chalk it up as a dishy informed rumor for now and keep an eye on it.

Thoughts?

I really don't know how I should feel about that. I loved the movies growing up and Chris Pratt is one of my favorite entertainers in Hollywood, but I just can't see him pulling this one off. /: Maybe I just need to see him a bit more 'serious' role.

@ironspiderchan45: Disney doesn't ruin anything.

Anyways, I don't feel that a classic movie like Indiana Jones should be rebooted. Just feels wrong.

Ok I'm a huge fan of Chris Pratt and I have been since Parks and Rec but here's the thing.

Indiana Jones is all about the style and bad@ss personality. Harison Ford played him as essentially Han Solo, except modern and running through temples instead of flying space ships. This was because Harison Ford can only play one type of character (not that I dislike him as an actor, he just doesn't have a lot of range.) Now Pratt is the same way, but the one type of character he plays is a lovable idiot. Even in Guardians of the Galaxy, where he was more of a serious, action hero guy than the ridiculous funny guy, he still was mostly a goofy, funny guy.

While I know I should wait to see Chris Pratt actually in the role, I just honestly don't have high hopes.

I grew up on Indiana Jones, I'm like the biggest fan to have ever existed :o

The only thing that worries me is that idk if Chris Pratt could be convincing as a teacher and archaeologist, I just don't know. I mean he looks pretty convincing in JW, but I need to see more of him being smart and serious. I know IJ moves weren't super graphic with a few exceptions, but I'm afraid it won't have enough action in it being owned by Disney, I want more entertaining death scenes.

I think this, as well as Jurassic World, is Pratt's opportunity to prove the world that he isn't just an actor who can play a lovable idiot. It's an actors job to be able to portray different sides of reality, I think he could potentially wow us all.

I can see it now: "Godfather re-boot to star Chris Pratt as Don Vito Corleone".

@bflynn316: He's not too bad in The Fugitive and plays a different role than his usual 'lovable rogue' that he's more well-known for.

I think we all do because to be honest, I even have my doubts. I just am trying to stay positive about this and Ghost Busters since I'm so hopeless for Fantastic Four :P Gotta balance it out!

@arturocalakayvee: I think he'll own the role, hopefully he makes it his own, I'll just be disappointed if they try to make him like Ford's version, because he could probably make that role something new and refreshing. I have no clue what's going on with GB's.

I feel like they're going to turn the reboot in a comedy-driven movie. It'll have the action/adventure but it'll be completely jokerized.

@arturocalakayvee: hehe but in all seriousness I just don't think he would be a good Indie, I mean I like Cooper, but I would be even more doubtful about how he could handle being a teacher and archaeologist than I would Chris Pratt. Cooper just doesn't look like an Indiana Jones.

There was a time when I considered him for the part tho.

@ccraft: Daniel Craig looks nothing like Sean Connery or any of the other Bond actors before him....IMO they should have been doing something like the Bond films have been doing....there's so many great story possibilities with the Indiana Jones character that they should have rebooted with a new actor years ago and I think that Bradley Cooper could pull off Indiana Jones a heck of a lot better than Chris Pratt

@danhimself: Yeah but you can say 007 agents aren't the same guy, that's why they're so many different actors for that character. But Indiana Jones isn't a code name, "Indiana" is a nickname but that isn't the same.
