If JL:U had continued what direction could it have taken?

I saw that they are going to release the entire thing on Blue Ray soon, though I'll always treasure my video tapes. But if the show had gone on what direction should it or could it have taken? They'd just had the Darksied invasion, Luthor was gone, if I remember Supergirl went off to join the Legion. They had all those characters left though, not only the original 7 but all the ones that they added and hinted at. There was no resolution of the Captain Marvel storyline for one thing. There was a lot left in that show. I miss it.
