I guess Snyder paid attention to Batman Begins
I don't get it.
"Your parents death was not your fault, it was your father's". "Anger does not change the fact that your father failed to act."
In BvS, he attempts to stop the gunman (so does Martha), instead of just sitting there.
Begins was better
That literally has nothing to do with this, but okay...
@petey_is_spidey: oh, I got that, lol. I just didn't think Snyder was going for that direct correlation.
I will admit I liked the BvS one more (except Bruce's haircut).
Begins was better
Begins was better
Amen. It even had the better Batman.

After seeing the BvS death, the begins one seems so much more plain.
@petey_is_spidey: Probably because the BvS one was more exaggerated

That's the point....
- As someone has pointed out the idea of Thomas Wayne fighting back against the mugger goes back all the way to the golden age of Batman Comics.
- And the scene in Batman: Begins was a thousand times better becuase it had much more emotion and meaning given the quickness..How life can be ended in a Flash...And then the way it was latter correlated and used in Ras AL Ghuls speech to Bruce was simply brilliance..It showed that in order to avenge his parents he was going to have to become stronger then his parents not just physically but mentally as well..And how willpower is everything..Whereas the scene in Bvs felt like a generic pop music video..Way too much style and flash over Substance...And it served no real purpose other then Zack Snyder showing us that people can be shot in slow motion..And how cool it looks..And yea i guess it was needed to correlate with the Martha Scene..But i dont think theres a Batman fan left who dosent know how much Batman loved his Parents..All in all it was a pretty pointless and redundant scene.
Oh dear, that opening scene...
Snyder tries too hard to make everything iconic and monumental. The perpetual slow motion, portentous music, overly-elaborate cinematography; it's all garbage.

Agreed. Nolan used the parent's compliance to prove that not every problem has a pacific solution and that sometimes you have to use force to make things right, and that's a lesson this Batman will learn.

I utterly disagree. The Begins one is a much better scene.
The Batman v. Superman one is cool, but a pretty bad scene.
I kinda liked both. The BVS one is well shot and the music is awesome but I think the Begins one tried to play a more real tone. In certain situations, you freeze up from fear and in Begins you could tell Thomas froze but still tried to handle it with a sense of compliance as is normally advised. Unfortunately it still got him and Martha killed leading Ra's to use it as a fuel for Bruce's anger. Though I will admit the slow clenching of Thomas's fist looked awesome in BVS.
How can you dislike the BvS one especially the 3D version.
It being a fundamentally flawed moment (not even a scene) is why.
@theamazingspidey: it was different though, it didn't feel like a chore watching the Wayne's die again. I think it was a really great scene to watch.
It is emotional, but I'd barely call it a scene. More along the lines of a moment.
@ganon15: @petey_is_spidey: @jumpstart55: @sprior93: @black_arrow: @ready_4_madness: @rustyroy: @earthangelo: @theamazingspidey: Or Snyder simply stuck to canon, which i guess is worse than batman begins judging by most of the comments?
Begins was better
@entropy_aegis: thoughts?

I just prefer the Begins one, I did say that Snyder's one is cool too.

Yeah, this is pretty much how I feel.

I never had any qualms with the content of the "tonight a comedian died in Gotham" scene moment in Batman v. Superman. It was a stylistic moment, but still poorly executed.
@theamazingspidey: That's fair. There's the Excalibur easter egg as they leave the theater, which foreshadows how Superman dies. Yeah it means nothing to the topic at hand but still a sweet easter egg.

I agree. Snyder and Terrio are fantastic at attention to detail.
@rustyroy: that's fine, I just wanted to point out that the BvS scene has canon.
Well TDKR isn't really canon but yeah I get what you're saying. I just think both directors have followed the source material well enough in their own way even though many fans disagree.
The BVS scene made Thomas look dumb. Did he seriously think he was going to be able to beat that guy up before getting shot dead. Even though it was a really cool scene.
But did Batman get raped in Snyder's movie, tho?
huh?

It's a joke. Snyder said that if he was to make Batman Begins, he'd make Batman get raped in the prison he was in at the start of the movie.

Snyder is an idiot, so that is no surprise.
