Now that I have confirmed what kevin feige said,I just want to say a few things.Let me be honest I have a problem with her being the strongest, the reason is not because she is a female, tbh I've been looking foward to a powerful mcu female character as we might first see in thor ragnarok but my major problem is that mcu are changing things too much and I reckon a lot of thor, hulk and Dr strange fans will not be happy about this power balance change and even worse if the celestials and adam warlock end up being introduced only to have captain marvel stronger than them,as I said its not about the gender but its about keeping the power levels as they should be if at all,she is among the heavy hitters/hax users but not the strongest.Every comic book fan knows that the likes of thor, strange, hulk are stronger than her and that has how it has been but changing it now is even going to be disadvantageous for mcu because many of the thor, hulk and strange fans wouid cringe seeing people they know should be stronger look weaker and this can affect their attitude towards the mcu movies, even though mcu originally messed up hulk and thors power set,it can still be corrected in ragnarok its not hard but giving captain marvel feats she does not have according to what feige said she will be able to do doesn't sit well with me futhermore I am very scared that thanos will be nerfed,if he eventually ends up being nerfed,I will be very very upset and I believe a lot of people will but I hope it won't be the case, let me hear your various opinions.
I don't think Captain Marvel should be the Strongest MCU Character
Thanos with or without the Infinity Gauntlet must be more powerful than her or else it wouldn't make sense.
It's sad people have to explain that they aren't sexist for their opinion
Very true...
But what is even more disappointing is this mindset that even proven and very experienced people like Kevin Feige also seems to carry... That somehow female characters appeal should be promoted differently, that they are not just another super hero, that all her character can be reduced to this plot point, that you have to focus in something that may not even be that crucial in her comics... Feels not inclusive and forced and like is just trying to appeal to a very specific demographic, and this strategy still didn't work yet in live action, with the current data (in my view) Captain Marvel is the Mcu movie already scheduled with less potential at the box office... Maybe i am failing to see something here, but K. Feige should be praised but also criticized in his decisions and here and i don't see how this Pr strategy will help Captain Marvel to have a big range appeal... Like she should have...
@ready_4_madness: Until we see otherwise they are
Can't have a woman as the most powerful character, that's just messed up, mate.
yeah a women's job is to make sandwich and carry children
God, power level fans are the absolute worst.
There won't be any disastrous results coming from Carol being the most powerful hero because only the thousands of comicbook fans know where she is in the comics, movies goers don't know and won't care. So to them it'll just be a stronger character.
@StradustCrusader: Its not just about power level, its also about the character,if this were DC would you be cool with wonder woman being stronger than superman in a live action movie knowing fully well that is not the case,it is the same thing here only this time its marvel and not DC,there are some things that should be kept classic and not changing them up because of gender appeal and what not.
I'm hoping he just means under certain circumstances, she will be the most powerful.
If they include her Binary form, I could actually see this as plausible. I don't think she'll be the most powerful in base though.
Feige is probably exaggerating to shill to the PC culture, I don't think she'll actually be as strong or powerful as MCU Thor or Hulk by feats. They have multiple films whereas she will only have one to show what she can do thus far.
My take on the subject is like a combination of these three post. Maybe under certain circumstances (binary form) she'll be pretty powerful, close to most powerful (with her base being around Iron Man level). But I also agree with Lvenger and Fiege could've over exaggerated a bit. Her having Binary form would be cool tho.
@kgb725: I don't think Strange is more powerful than Hulk without his time stone
He will be.
I'm just dreading Carol's introduction to the MCU in general. I know she's hasn't always been a bad character, but she just represents everything wrong with modern Marvel Comics in my mind. Obviously this goes way beyond her, but she's just the figurehead Bendis has been pushing, and her recent horrible writing throughout Civil War II has really ruined her for me. The MCU is the closest thing we've got to a true Marvel Universe right now, treating the core characters with much more respect than the comics.
Basically, I couldn't care less if she's more powerful than Thor and Hulk despite the deviation from the comics. But I just hope they handle her right. I know they're trying to write Captain Marvel as an empowered woman, but she's just horrible. Being empowered doesn't mean you need to be needlessly volatile and stubborn. If they can write her as strong yet rational, I'll be happy.
No. She is weaker than Hulk, Thor, Iron-man and Scarlet Witch.
Scarlet Witch is the strongest one out of all of them in the comic, but she's pretty weak in the movies. Movie universe is different from comic universe, I can live with that.

Agreed. I have nothing wrong with minor changes to powerlevels from the comics to the MCU, but taking a mid tier comic character and turning her into someone that can supposedly wipe the floor with the rest of the Avengers, not a fan. That right should be reserved for people like Strange and Wanda, who actually operate on a similar level in the comics.
Well, she's weaker than Ironman. Ironman just killed her in recent issue.
You are mistaken bro. She killed him.

I know, I was being sarcastic since people say she's weak.
@poeticwarrior: I know, I was sarcastic as well. I knew you were joking.

to us maybe but to the audience who don't know about their comic counterparts will like it.
