Lets say Bruce Died? How would Peter do as his Replacement in the Batman Mantle. Lets say this is a mature peter who's been through all of the big events in his Life ( Such as Death of Gwen Stacy) and he's about 30ish. Nightwing Doesn't want the mantle and he thinks Pete is the 2nd best choice because of his Physical Attributes and Mind. Even though he lacks the Detective skills and Martial Arts Training. How would Peter do as Batman? Maybe he'd be more similar to Dick's time as Batman? Would his presence as the caped Crusader effect other characters in anyway? Maybe The JL?

How would certain Events differ such as End Game?

@lone_wolf_and_cub: Killer Croc could take 2 I think haha. I think Joker would have a field day if Peter Parker was Batman, he just doesn't suit the dark & gritty feel of Gotham.

In all seriousness though the story of Batman Beyond is a bit of a twist on Peter Parker's story if rather than getting bit by a spider he was mentored by Bruce Wayne. There's a few parallels between the two.

He would do really well as Batman when it comes to the physical villains. But if something like Endgame happened...he's done.

He actually would do good against Clayface with his spider-sense. I don't doubt he should need something more than fists but that's not beyond his experience nor is it any different for Batman. Peter is a genius not to mention one of his villains is Sandman. His greater problem would be the more cerebral villains like Joker or Riddler. Yes he has Osborn but Osborn has always been a greater danger when he's not being physical.

He'd do good enough job, maybe even better than Bruce but it won't be as easy as the other comments are implying, Batman doesn't only encounter physical threats, he also encounters mental and emotional threats and his job requires extreme patience.

I have this feeling that Joker would be killed or crippled. We all know how much Joker loves trying to corrupt heroes with the "No Kill Policy" so, after he goes after someone like May, he either gets crippled or his skull crushed.

Only thing that saved Norman was the fact that he was a superhuman.

idk there was a story where wonder woman sucked in gotham because she didn't understand how the city works...she had to recruit harley and catwoman i believe. Not entirely sure why it came down to that when she could have just one punched them all... she was helping around town after bats "died"

Depends: I can imagine Spider-man would have the same problems if not worse than Bruce.

The Riddler: Making him solve his riddles which would test spider-man detective skills which are inferior to Bruce's.

Scarecrow: His fear gas

The Joker: His Joker gas

Clayface: Can match him physically

Mr.Freeze: Freezing the city and civilians

Bane: Could physically match him if he has his venom

Penguin: His control over the city

Do we really have to do this again?

We already been through this on another thread, does it really warrant repeating?

No, Leo, reread that page again and you'll see his overall stats are buffed dramatically.

I don't have exact numbers of course on how strong or fast he is.

A major obstacle to Peter was money and having to take care of his aunt and himself. With Alfred and all that money, Peter should be able to do very well.

  • Peter probably could come up with antidotes for most of those gasses faster than Bats given he is a scientist and he now have a company that directly deals with these problems.
  • Clayface isn't a problem neither, he could be deal with the same way he deals with Sandman
  • Bane is no where near Spider-man strength level even though Peter has a speed advantage, Spider-Sense and web-shooters
  • How is Penguin different than other Mobsters such as Goblin King and Kingpin?

Kinda like how it already is. All the Gotham villains have to pull all their tricks and terrors before Batman stomps their heads into the ground.

So with that said, I dont think Peter has the mental fortitude it would need to fill out Bruce's shoes. Plus he isn't half the detective Bruce is, so you have to double the existing body count.

25 tonner? Where do you see that?

I don't know exactly how strong Bane is but regardless even if he was a 100 tonner we wouldn't know it because he never lifts things that are heavy to show it.

not really just giving counter-points.

Counter-points rightttt.

Seems more like you're just discrediting Batman villains.

I cant see peter as batman. He is just too comical. He is very mature already but comedy and being a smart ass is how he deals with fear. I agree with every one saying he demolishes bats villians but I cant see peter putting on the black cap.

I disagree both of them have the same amount of mental fortitude. Both of them have incredible willpower. However Batman is not burdened with having a lot of immediate family not to mention Bruce has a far colder outlook on life than Pete does. Basically Peter has far more to loose than Bruce as Bruce's life is Batman. Meaning Bruce is to a certain extent more effective but he has no more mental fortitude than Parker. Mental fortitude is not a unique trait. It differs in certain situations and would depend on the context of the situation.

Grated initially with some of Batman's smarter villains this would initially be a problem. The key word here being initially. Peter while not a killer does have a certain grey area as has been shown in Back In Black and Grim Hunt. If someone like the Joker did kill a bunch of people with Parker unable to stop it especially if it was people who were close to him Pete would be very likely to cripple them especially when he sees how far they go.

So yes in the short term there could be more casualties given that Parker is not used to dealing with said villains. However in the long term a lot less people would die. Due to people like Joker potentially being crippled for the rest of their miserable lives.

I like Spider-man too. I pretty much like every character because I read about all of them.

I just don't think Spider-man is that much better than Batman to the point he can just stomp all of Batman enemies easily like say Wonder Woman or Aquaman would. But I do like Spider-man though I pick up all of his issues.

@ariesxmasters: But he's way faster, stronger, more durable.

I admit, he isn't better as far as crime fighting, both are veterans, but Parker is physically beyond Bruce and there is no denying that.

Batman can kick down a tree. Spider-Man could lift it and tear it in half.

Batman can dodge machine gun fire from six crooks.

Spider-Man can dodge machine gun fire from sixty.

Peter isn't wearing the Bat costume. Closest scenario sees Peter rocking the black suit, but the Spider stays.

Plus, Damien would take this as the perfect opportunity to take the title for his own.

With that in mind, Spidey would also be geared up for any prep game a Joker or Scarecrow wanna try. Ends of the Earth and Iron Spider if he needs to go intergalactic. He's not a detective, but more than likely, Damien and/or Tim wouldn't mind helping out where needed.

Overall, Gotham shouldn't be anything Pete can't handle.

He's do better seeing as Peter is his physical superior in every way possible.

But he wont be a better Batman since intimidation is not Peters forte.
