Hello fellow Viners!

I have reached the point in my comic book collecting career in which I have many comic books but my OCD is not letting me leave them organized as I have them, currently I have them on a monthly organization system. All June books are in a June box etc. So my question is how do YOU organize your comics?

Alphabetically by volume, then numerically.

Same. It's terrible but I mostly own trades so I find it manageable.

For the record I put hardcovers on top to keep the paperbacks from saying open because it annoys me.

I just went through and organized my books back in July. Bagged, boarded, two pieces of tape, alphabetically, chronologically, numerically, annuals and minis for corresponding characters in the back, all in long boxes. I'd love to convert to short boxes with drawers.

I like to organize my graphic novels in alphabetical order and then by the years they were created. I even have a spreadsheet that I keep on my flash drive to lists all the graphic novels I currently have.

I don't maybe that's why I always lose them. Plus, I let people borrow them. I'd be pissed but it's not like I actually have room for them anyways.

@decoyelite: That was only temporary :P they're all in the bookcase now. Separated by Publisher, then alphabetized by Volume. But all the X-Men books are together, just alphabetical by title within each other, then going by volume number.

Trades are on bookshelves, organized by publisher, alphabetically, then numerically. Issues are organized the same way but in long boxes.

It's funny because it sounds like I toss comics around when I'm actually very careful with most of them.

TPBs are in chronological order on my shelf.

Comics are organized in short boxes (easier to stack) that are specifically for different categories (X-Men, Batman, Star Wars, Green Lantern, etc. get their own boxes, because there are lots of them).

With over 6,000 comics, the only way I can keep track of them & be able to find them when I want them is to organize them in long boxes alphabetically & numerically. The oversized Graphic novels, larger comic mags (like 'Nam, Savage Sword of Conan, Mad, ect.), & smaller books like Archie Digest all go in a smaller box. I have comics featuring just about every character &/or genre you can imagine, so it's really the only method that would work for me.

I just organize them by publisher/character, but all 40,000+ tend to get less organized as the numbers get higher,

1. Read them

2. Bag N' Board them

3. Place them in a comic box in alphabetical order, having them go numerically from highest to lowest.

Batman related, X-Men related, Wildstorm (ABC) related, Avengers related sorted in their own sections then alpha and numeric.

Everything else by publisher, alpha, & numeric. Books of any series that I've collected less than 5 of just gets sorted alphabetically/numerically in a random longbox (unless it falls into one of the "related categories above".

I got two boxes. one for series im currently reading and another for series im done with because they stopped or I just don't get anymore. I keep all the comics with their series, but they are all over the place in the box. I have everyone in bag and board. I need a third box soon because my box with series that stopped is close to full. I keep trades stacked on my dresser

Bagged and boarded in boxes in alphabetical order (from the indicia) then numerical. Volumes with the same title are chronologically ordered.

Arranged alphabetically, and then the comics themselves are sometimes ordered by chronological volume.

I do mine alphabetically and numerically. Also since I don't have lot of space now, I put some comic book titles with others. I put Demon Knights and Stormwatch with Earth 2. Red Hood and the Outlaws are with Green Arrow. Deathstroke and Grifter are with Savage Hawkman, and Captain Atom is with The Flash. I also have a separate box for my Marvel comic books and I also put Black Bat and Captain Midnight there too.
