Okay now I know this might sound a bit crazy and stupid but it's a legit question. How would someone on a budget of about 100 dollars make a computer like a Batcomputer. Now, I don't mean something like Batman actually has where he can go and find out about anything he wants but something where I could go through and find out where Crime is happening and Stuff like that.Mainly because I want to become a Superhero like Batman I am training in Jujitsu and Taekwondo so I'm good in the Combat aspect of it.I'm a 16 year old aspiring Superhero so can anyone help?

...uhmm yea...not to sound like a jerk, but maybe you should lay off the comic books for a while. I'm 17 and I love comic books, but I havnt done the whole "I'm going to be a superhero" thing since I was about 9. Chances are if you go through with this you're going to get hurt (shot, tazerd, stabbed etc.) or wind up in jail (which your parents would not be too happy with). And if you do get caught your parents and/or law enforcement will more than likely put you in a white stray coat and give you a few years of counseling. And it also doesn't look good on your records at all when you apply for school or a job.

@technobacon2014: Well you have to be specific then as Comic Batman is impossible. Bullet Proof vests vary on protection. Either way you'll need more than body protection as bullets can hit the face(ballistic masks can work as some have prevented 44. Magnums from penetrating but cause messed up faces from impact). If you can obtain Dragonskin armor somehow then that's good protection(point blank grenades had no effect on it whatsoever)Either way don't go after this dream of yours it'll get you hurt or worse

There's a Police Scanner App, but leave the hero business to the pros, kid. Batman is not realistic... like at all, he would be dead if he were.

@technobacon2014: Phoenix Jones is kinda pathetic. He got a broken nose. Got arrested. Revealed his identity to the public. Cops hated him. Used his comic shop as his hide out and even told it to GMA (which would make it kinda easy to narrow down his identity. Got a group together that barely even did a damn thing except piss off citizens. His wife joined in on the superhero gig (hahaha what a dumbass). I don't even think he goes out on patrol anymore.

@mitran said:

Obtain a bat. Use it as input/processor. Once you've programmed it correctly it will use echolocation to locate crimes and output their locations via encoded guano. You should have a translator unit present to interpret the output (personally I would use a Mac because they're good with s***). I would try to obtain more than one bat, though; one can process up to a chiropterabyte of information, which sounds like a lot but when you're dealing with completely continuous data over a whole city you're going to want more brainpower.

This...is the single best CV post I've seen in my life.

@technobacon2014: k wow, a vest only protects your torso, and $300 can barely buy you a standard computer, a sophisticated crime computer would be considerably more and probably need to be custom built

You could just get a police scanner app, but you'd have to be able to beat the cops to the scene while the crime is still in progress, which you won't.

You need to understand that vigilante crime fighters are fictional for a reason, because it's not possible IRL. Maybe you stop a mugging once or twice, but it ends with you either arrested, seriously injured or dead.

If you want to make a difference in such a way, work to become a cop, firefighter, government agent, member of the armed forces, etc.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BECOME A VIGILANTE

@technobacon2014: kid, you're in the real world. doing what batman does would get you killed, regardless of real world protection and skills you use. there are people out there that wouldn't mind putting a bullet through your skull and through your loved ones as well.

if you are doing what phoenix jones does, you'd still go in to the slammer and still get shot or stabbed or assaulted and this is a guy that is far more trained than you are.

you'd have a better luck trying to be iron man...

Seriously, build a suit instead of a bat computer...

Get some tough iron\

shape it not a costume(might need some help with that)

get 2 deodorants and 2 lighters( they make two flamethrowers)

Alternatively, you could use tear gas or tasers.

Note: Use the flamethrowers to scare off people rather than burning them... Or just use something else like the tear gas or tasters.

In all seriousness though, being a vigilante is illegal and I don't even know why you would like to become one.... However, trying to be like batman is much more riskier than anything.... No matter what fighting style you know, you would get zapped by anyone who has a knife and actually wants to stab you... the real world doesn't allow no mistakes... See Kickass, you would get a better idea of what I mean. Besides, making bat computer is impossible, and no offence but I don't think you would be intelligent enough to be batman... I mean there aren't so many smart people nowadays. So yeah, if you wan't to fight evil, become a cop.. If you REALLY wan't to be a vigilante, however and actually want to last more than a day. Then don't mimic batman, you can't be successful. He defies logic all the time. Take your time. Build yourself a durable, safe, iron suit. Get your flamethrowers and run into criminals and scare them with fire..... Just on't burn them, You really wouldn't wanna go to jail at that age.

Check this:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2452431/The-Iron-Man-suit-reality-Scientists-working-bullet-proof-liquid-armour-gives-soldiers-super-human-strength.html

There actually is a chance in reality that the iron man suit will be made by scientists....

I'd save up for one if I were you ;)

@technobacon2014: if you know enough of what phoenix jones's does for a living, you'd really need to think what you are asking right now. if you want to help, do it in a way that police will not shut you down or even be angry with you because that is essentially what you are about to do. borderline vigilantism is not endorsed nor supported by the police and they will be more likely to put you behind bars for obstructing them.

if you want to do good for the community, do what the likes of superbarrio gomes or any good samaritan does. there are a multitude of ways to help the community but emulating the wrong examples like batman or phoenix jones will more likely kill you. it's you who needs to get out of the comic universe and research the appropriate ways to help people because you seem to be under the impression that it's very easy to do doing what batman or jones do.

@technobacon2014: "I'm gonna train and you guys need to get out of the comics universe."

I've been laughing at that lime for the past 5 minutes. You want to become a superhero vigilante (which is illegal be the way). Your a 16 year old kid who is going to get the crap beat out of you by a group of pissed off gangsters or "thugs" that aren't going to put up with a kid pretending to play superhero. If anyone needs to get out of the comics universe it's you. We leave the superhero sand super villains in the comics and keep them there. Your the one pretending to be a vigilante, not us.

I'm really not trying to sound like a jerk at all and I'm sorry if it seems like I'm coming off as one. If you want to do good then finish high school, take some legal classes in college and become a lawyer or judge. Maybe join the police academy.

@technobacon2014: you can do good stuff, but do you think that getting into fights on the streets dressed like a cosplayer is good? Why don't you do charity work? Adopt kids from the streets so they don't become criminals? Become a cop, so you are actually trained to handle street situations and would have backup (martial arts will only get you so far)?

The reason you would put on a costume instead of actually trying to help people is because you like the fame and the recognition, or the feeling of being cool.

You know how many homeless people you'd help if you donated 300$ worth of clothes and food?

@technobacon2014: I have had a similar experience, and totally understand what you are thinking. Just know that it's extremely unrealistic. I'm a big fan of Phoenix Jones, and he is the only one who seems to be doing this "well", but his wife left him and he constantly puts his family in danger. I have considered doing it myself, have thought about if for a couple years, but realized that at best, you anger a lot of people and law enforcement and put 10-20 criminals if prison over a couple years, maybe doing some community service under your identity along the way. At worst, you die.

However, I have compiled a list of gear necessary to do this, all for a couple tens of thousands of dollars (btw, there's a reason the Army rejected DragonSkin). I'm posting it below, it's just interesting to think about:

Look through it, I want to see what you think. I strongly advise against carrying out this plan. It is an absolutely terrible idea and just a fantasy, and this is coming from a huge comic fan.

I highly discourage you from even considering this. What you should do is join the police force. As cheesy as it this sounds; you don't need a cape to be a hero.

1. Buy a computer

2. Take a sharp object or pen

3. Carve/write a bat symbol on it

There you go. Tune in next time on how to make a Bat Credit Card!

In all seriousness, don't try to be a vigilante. The only thing that'll come out of it is your injury or death, or you being arrested.

This sounds like a better idea

I remember showing my friend a scene from Batman TAS where Batman used a mini computer in his suit to look up information. He said something like a palm computer was impractical because most people are used to finding info with their phones. So yes a batcomputer can be made but it'd be easier to use a regular Internet device

  1. Go to the store.
  2. Buy a sticker of a bat.
  3. Go back home.
  4. Put it on your computer.
  5. Call it your batcomputer.

@technobacon2014: Iether save up if I were you or buy a used one upgrade it if you know how. Or just uy a cheap 2nd hand computer and put a Batman logo on it..

Your'e gonna need a lot more than martial arts to become Batman tough. When your'e older you may want to study detective work or forensics to help, or chemistry. You can never study enough, only when you feel you are truely ready and have the guts to do it go for it. Goodluck young Batman...
