Look. I've always just assumed he does but I'm not an expert on Aquaman lore. I enjoyed the the New 52 series but I don't claim to know a lot about the character. I know he had gills in the DC animated feature of Throne of Atlantis. Guy on here though. I won't call him out. He's adamant in any other piece of Aquaman media. He doesn't have gills. So does he or does he not? If not. How does he breathe underwater?
Does Aquaman have gills?
No he doesn't have gills.
This
And as I stated in the other thread:
He is a hybrid with unique physiology but he doesn't have gills. There's a direct quote from the comics with some Atlanteans (or humans who studied Atlanteans or something like that) which says Aquaman is a different from Atlanteans as Atlanteans are from Humans.
@nerevarine_11: @comicfan11:@ecstaticgrace: I think he has gills. Post something where it states outright that he doesn't have gills eh? Or at least explains how he breathes underwater.
@stormshadow_x: Right. Doesn't need gills. Got it. Why doesn't he need them though. What does he have instead?
@avenging_x_bolt: How does he breathe underwater then? Nobody has been able to answer this. No explanation. Just "no he doesn't ect".

no idea. I dont think its been explained
@avenging_x_bolt: But it's been canonically established that he doesn't have gills? Otherwise. I reckon he does. It makes far more sense than no explanation at all.

People of atlantis can simply breathe underwater with no gills.
@wbr17: What do you make of this assertion? I'm not buying it. I don't remember anything like that being established in the New 52 run.
