I don't think nationality matters that much as long as the performance is good. I mean, just look at Wolverine, a Canadian character who is played by an Australian actor, but no one minds because he does a really good job as Wolverine. And I'd say it's the same with Henry Cavill. Some of the stuff in Man of Steel and BvS is hard to work with but for the most part he does pull it off and is a pretty good Clark Kent and Superman.
