I see people touting him as one of the weaknesses of the film, but I've been rewatching Deadpool, and I actually really like him, he wasn't 'eeevil' he was just a knobhead to the nth degree, everybody knows that guy. I actually hope he returns...

What do you guys think?

He was pretty bland but was not the only weakness of the film, the plot itself was very generic.

But it was a fun movie.

It was very marvel villain. He had good scenes, but otherwise an overall presence that didn't impact a whole lot.

I loved him. He did what the script called for. I don't need to know where the villian went to high school in every film.

Ajax was just a generic bad guy, I have seen his shtick countless times and I found him generally uninteresting. Angel Dust was more interesting than him and she barely even talked.

To be fair though, he was literally one of the only things about the movie I did not like.

I liked him. He was as generic as they come as far as motivations go, but his cocky, asshole personality stood out and complimented Deadpool really well. All props to the actor

I never had a problem with Ajax, I thought he added a lot to the movie.

I'm actually of the belief he was perfect for the film. Fleshing him out risks the viewer sympathising and relating to him in some way or form, which you can't afford, especially when your protagonist is a blood lusted psychopath who you want the audience to sympathise with.

He was good, for an origin movie. Even Liam Neeson's Ra's Al Ghul wasn't all that great of a villain, as the movie had more focus on Batman. Same goes here.

I completely agree, additionally an Ajax character study would have simply bogged the film down, it would be a completely superfluous and indulgent distraction.

I wouldn't say that I liked him but he suited the movie well, the film wasn't meant to be about the villain but rather an introduction to Deadpool. He was acted well but Ajax just isn't that memorable.

... That was the point... If you went in for a deep interesting villain and story... You were there for the wrong reason
