DC's 5 best h2h combatants

I know this has probably been done a thousand times, but this is in retaliation to the same thread for Marvel's fighters that just popped up.

My own list based on what I have read.

1. Batman

2. Deathstroke

3. Nightwing

4. Tim Drake

5. Catwoman

The ones I didn't include were wondergirl and... Nope, that's probably it.

This is my list based on what I KNOW, not just the comics I've read/comics I own.

1. Karate Kid (or Batman with prep)

2. Deathstroke (in his New 52 series he says he can know your moves before you make them, a bit like Cassandra Cain, only Deathstroke is also... Well... A superhuman mega-athlete that puts Batman's athletic skills to shame in a variety of ways)

3. Cassandra Cain

4. Batman

5. Wonder Woman

- Batman

- Cassandra Cain

- Lady Shiva

- Richard Dragon

- Bronze Tiger

They're in no order, and this was just off the top of my head. And I know there are others I'm forgetting like Sensei, Connor Hawke, Black Canary, etc.

Especially with Bronze tiger and Richard Dragon in it.

Going by forum knowledge/what I've read, I'd probably say this:

1. Karate Kid
2. Lady Shiva
3. Deathstroke
4. Cassandra Cain

#5 was probably my most difficult to place. There's other notable h2hers I've read/heard of before as well like Richard Dragon, Bronze Tiger, Connor Hawke, Silver Monkey, Jean-Paul Valley, I-Ching, Sensei, and Black Canary.

From best to worse, the top 5 skillwise:

-O-Sensei

-Lady Shiva

-Cassandra Cain

With Enhancements,powers etc:

Pretty sure Shiva is above Dragon. And Cass is around the level of Sandra Wusan. Diana is good but not better than Batman.

I don't know that I'd put Wonder Woman in the top 5, what hand-to-hand feats makes her deserving of being ranked so high?

In the comics, I think you're right, they don't show her using her skill as much as brute strength and speed. I think her reputation comes more being "Amazon Trained"..that their training is very rigorous and of a very high standard. That said, I'd agree, they don't show that side of her much. Though, if I had time, I could scan a scene from WW#5 (or thereabouts) she does some somersault thing and decapitates like a dozen zombies.

Slade's good, but he's not elite honestly. Black Canary (Pre-52) is close to making the list. Nightwing is not quite as close. Sensei is up there, Connor Hawke, etc...I just don't personally see how people are rating Slade so high, and before the comment rain in I am a Slade fan and read his stuff. I still don't see him that high.

@manwhohaseverything: No doubt she's skilled but, in a similar way to Thor, the fact that she has super strength and whatnot mean writers don't bother showing much of her proficiency. I think I've seen a couple of scans of her fighting against some actual martial artists like Black Canary before but I don't know whether she had her powers or not which would obviously make a difference.
