Daredevil TV Show and More Heading to Netflix

Netflix fans, rejoice. Everyone else: prepare to get Netflix. Today it was announced The Walt Disney Co. and Netflix are joining forces for massive Marvel TV deal. They're going to bring a grand total of four live-action shows exclusively to the top internet TV Network starting in 2015. So, who are the lucky characters getting some time in the spotlight? It should come as no surprise Daredevil is one of them, but also getting their own shows are Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. The website says Netflix agreed to a minimum of four, thirteen episode series and it'll all build-up to a "The Defenders" mini-series event.

Marvel Television and ABC Television Studios will produce the shows. Alan Fine, President of Marvel Entertainment, shared his enthusiasm over the development. "The deal is unparalleled in its scope and size, and reinforces our commitment to deliver Marvel's brand, content and characters across all platforms of storytelling. Netflix offers an incredible platform for the kind of rich storytelling that is Marvel's specialty."

Yep, pretty cool. I actually just got Netflix a couple months ago too. I do think that their streaming isn't that great though so hopefully that'll be improved by the time this happens. Always good to see DD get some love.

Street level Marvel madness. These are literally 4 of my favorite Marvel characters. Netflix is a good home for them. This is spectacular news!!

While this is great news, I can't help but feel a bit annoyed as I don't have Netflix and that the only way I can watch these shows is to get something I've had no reason to get up until now. I feel this will alienate people, like myself, who don't have Netflix.

Dude, you have until 2015 to get it... I think you can accomplish that by then.

I get that, but it's EIGHT dollars per month, and you'll be able to gorge and watch all 13 episodes of a season in a single week if you want! There's often free 15 day trials and stuff too. I'm on my second free trial in two years. Think about it like paying $8 each "season" to see a 13-hour movie. Cancel right after if you want.

This is amazing news. What better than A single 2 hour movie for the greatest superhero, Daredevil than his own 13 episode series! I need xbox live again so I can watch Netflix

What happens in the countries that don't have Netflix? Do we miss out on these shows?

I need to know who's show running and producing this before I'll get excited. House of Cards was an interesting prestige novelty with plenty of name value but really dragged. At the sametime Orange is the New Black is one of my favorite series all year and that's from the "disgraced" showrunner of Weeds.

Buying things sight unseen like Netflix is a bit of a risk. These could all easily turn out terrible. The pilot and production process for TV is kinda wack but there is a built in feedback loop that can tell writers what's work and what isn't.

This is not good news for me. I love Daredevil and do not have Netflix, and where I live it is impossible to get Netflix due to lack of a stable internet connection. Not a good start to my day.

You say that as if $7.99 isn't a lot, add that up over twelve months and that's almost $100. That's actually a lot to ask for to simply enjoy four TV shows. Even more so when I can watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D on ABC for FREE, yet I have to pay money to watch Daredevil. That actually annoys me a little.

It just feels like I'm being ripped off as the only way I can enjoy these shows is to buy something I've had no desire to get in the past. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who will feel this way.

Do you think these guys will still get their own MCU movies or is this to compensate for less movies?

Will be satisfied with which ever answer because I am so psyched.

Like I said though, you can sign up for a single month. If you want, you could even wait until all four are out and watch them ALL for $8 in one month. Or, whatever you can stuff into a free trial.

I'm not telling you to not be upset about the delivery method. That's your opinion! But I'm just trying to explain some ways you can either rationalize it for a month or even watch it for free.

Also, 13 hours! Do you go see the movies when they come out? I don't know where you live, but that's probably pushing $10 at least.
