could a superhero story work in a novel and not in a comic?

im a aspiring writer and due to school writing is kinda a side project i do alongside my hobbies.i was thinking to myself "oh this would part of my story would look awesome illustrated." but i cant draw so i have stuck to just typing.would there be people who would buy a superhero story not in a comicbook format

There are plenty of Superhero/Superhero-ish novels out there. It is not a genre restricted only to visual mediums.

Check out the Wild Cards stories (anthology series edited by George RR Martin) or the Ex-Heroes series by Peter Clines.

There are many but superhero novel is very difficult to write and very difficult to understand and not very fun.

Of course there are taste cases in which it may be fun(haven't seen it yet)

Never read a strictly superheat novel. But the Hellboy novels I've read (Odd Jobs & Odder Jobs) are top notch. I need to get around to the third.
