Comic Vine's Top 100 Superheroes 2012

Hmmm. Some surprising choices for this year. I might have to come back and elaborate on my confusion.

Awesome, my two favourite characters, Batman and Thor, are in the top 10.

batman and flash made it on the top 10 and characters like blue beetle that I love made too. what else can I ask for?

All my favorites characters are there (Thor, Batman, Zatanna), that's good. ^^

deadpool isnt even a superhero and im glad swamp thing made the list but i think he should have been higher up the list.

Deadpool in the top 20 just put me off reading the rest of the list.

there is a 56 point difference between them, but now that I think about it...it's not that bad considering that Final Order Votes are worth 5 points individually. If all possible 5 votes (worth 5 each or 25 together) were used, then it would only take 2.24 users to make up the difference. That is fascinating...

of course, that would be a tie, so maybe round that up to a full 3 users or have 1 user cosign if you wanted keep that .24 of a user to beat the Dark Knight...

I can't believe that Storm is right under Super-man according to these ratings...Perhaps it's her animated appearance of beauty that appeals to so many people?...I do not know.

We just have a significant Storm fan group. We used to have more back in 2011 (I could mention the 2011 superhero list but the set up makes it hard to compare this list to that one since we didn't have all the things we have now. Definitely perfected the system. Side note for people who liked the placement of characters on that one: I am not talking about the order but the general set up. if we used the same system we use here even without cosigns it might be a completely different list. Probably...).

Some characters shouldnt be there since this list is superheroes and it have lot of heroes and neutral characters.

I believe the list favors Dc characters, how else do you explain so many of the characters ranked high to being Dc characters. This list makes no sense, it's widespread Dc fanboy favortism. They should rename it top 100 Dc characters and oh add a few marvel/other title characters, how else do you explain Dick Grayson ranked over Thor , Hulk ,Ironman, and or Wolverine. Then there's a good one, Catwoman ranked higher than a Jean Grey. This sort of thing is on par with someone telling me to go swimming of the coast of South Africa, it's nice and safe! When it's common knowledge that Great Whites jump out of the water there, and I'd be fish bait. Some things should be over looked this top 100 qualifies for me!

@evilvegeta74: I am not sure I get the whole swimming metafor (what that is suposed to illustrate), but anyway...

I want to clarify one point you made. You said the list "favors DC characters". The list doesn't favor anything. The "list" is a system orcetrated by myself which draws from different aspects of the community. ordered by community members who voted. If you ask me how I would order the list I would answer I don't care (best part of being impartial host). It's based entirely on the oppinons of 121 voters, 71 cosigners/nominators.

Since we never asked these voters if they favor DC or Marvel or Other, then it would be merely a hypothesis that these community members (at least some of them) favor DC, but as you said, it does lean toward DC at some points. Maybe the order doesn't make sense to you and maybe you will refer to this as the "Top 100 DC Characters" (which I must say makes total sense if Spider-man ranks higher than Superman :P ), but if you want I can give you the stats (even a screen shoot of the actual spreadsheet if you are confused on how we got the order we have), because I always want to be transparent.

I'm sorry the order doesn't reflect your tastes and that you consider this list to be equal to great whites (you seem to be in a lot of pain over this if that is true :P ). you are intitled to your oppinion (I don't care as impartial host). If you think it should be changed there is always...well...THIS years' list...

Of course, I can't take all the credit for writing all that because A) the individual reasons were from the character's nominator and B) I also never have the patience for nomination reasons (which is why I always get everyone else to do that and if you ever notice one reason looks exactly like something from the CV bio then you know why :P )

Wow. There really are a lot of Storm fans on this site O_O.

List is more or less spot-on with character popularity, aside from the odd choice or two (Hi Fantomex!).

Also, BATMAN NO. 1 FTW CANT TOUCH THIS UNBEATABLE XD
