Chris Pine's Role Confirmed for 'Wonder Woman'

We've already seen photos of Gal Gadot filming for Wonder Woman, and for the past few months, fans have been wondering who Chris Pine will play in the DC cinematic universe. There were rumors he'd be playing Hal Jordan while other rumors had him set to play Steve Trevor. Well, the 2017 film Wonder Woman is filming right now and this picture of Chris Pine came from the set and was uploaded by someone on Twitter.

Warner Bros released the official synopsis for the 2017 film, which gives away who Chris Pine is play.

Principal photography is underway on Warner Bros. Pictures’ Wonder Woman feature film, the highly anticipated action adventure from director Patty Jenkins (“Monster,” AMC’s “The Killing”), starring Gal Gadot (the “Fast & Furious” movies) in the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. The character will make her big screen debut this spring in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” but the new film will mark her first time headlining a feature.

The film also stars Chris Pine (the “Star Trek” films) as Captain Steve Trevor, Robin Wright (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” Netflix’s “House of Cards”), Danny Huston (“Clash of the Titans,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”), David Thewlis (the “Harry Potter” films, “The Theory of Everything”), Ewen Bremner (“Exodus: Gods and Kings,” “Snowpiercer”), Saïd Taghmaoui (“American Hustle”), Elena Anaya (“The Skin I Live In”) and Lucy Davis (“Shaun of the Dead”).

Pine will play Steve Trevor, who in the comics was an air force pilot and the love interest for Wonder Woman.

Cool. Although I find Steve Trevor to be sort of boring, but maybe they can do something different with him.

I thought this was confirmed ages ago and the Hal Jordan stuff was just a rumor beacuse people thought DC were lying about Steve

i sure theres more to him then Steve trevor. they might merge steve trevor/Hal jordan or something like steve trevor is Hal`s grandfather and they are played by the same actor. they could have jut confirm the news that hes playing Trevor a long time ago.

@the_stegman: Yeah but I think the MCU made nick fury likeable because he wasn't really likeable much to begin with. Trevor like Kirk is suppose to be a likeable character but I don't doubt they'll make him somewhat interesting.

Still kinda confused if Steve Trevor is only going to be in the past (World War era from the looks of the pic above) or if he's also going to be in the present DCEU?

Chris Pine has a multi-film contract or whatever. What if Steve Trevor becomes Green Lantern? Maybe he gets frozen like Cap or disappears at the end of the movie like in space or something. And then shows up back in Justice League. Idk.

The trick for DC will be making Trevor a household name to go along with the other Justice League members. What worries me is how DC handled Colonel Hardy; intense, but forgettable. Pine can be intense, but will they make him forgettable, or someone everyone will remember in a world of super heroes?

I think it is awesome that our society has evolved to a point where a talented actor like Chris Pine can get cross-gender roles and bring us his excellence as "Wonder Woman"

I got really excited when he was dressed as a pilot but Steve Trevor isn't quite what I was hoping for.

I hope he's exactly like the Steve Trevor from the 2009 Wonder Woman movie.

I don't see anyone saying its a great idea to make Steve Trevor a GL but just that it seems a distinct possibility that they will do more with him than just being a boyfriend seeing as he's a fairly big name actor. So him becoming a GL seems like something that could happen. If you have a problem with that happening then take it up with WB rather than raging at people on CV like a hormonal teen.

I love how people are all like "Trevor is boring". Well yeah, that's cause he's just the token love interest. It's refreshing to see it being the man for once.

It's a World War 2 movie by the way (hence the outfits), the first of three Wonder Woman films set in different eras.
