Also Ganke/Ned finding out that Peter is Spiderman =/= secret identity has been revealed
Check Out the Spider-Man Homecoming Trailer
@risingbean: personally I thought Giamatti was wasting his time as rhino and the kid they picked to play Harry was ridiculous. I liked electro but not the pathetic max dillon. I agree with you on that.
1. Still not over Aunt May being young. Yes I know she is "Aunt" May but I imagine her as an old grandma not a cool aunt.
2. The actor playing Ned Leeds looks like Ganke. Which is fine but then make the Spider-Man in this movie Miles Morales.
3. Spider-Man reavling his identiy is too soon. Again. Tony knows he is Peter and now his best friends knows? This is Miles written all over it.
3. The Vulture is one of my least favorite Villians. He is a guy who has wings and flies. While I do think the costume looks great I am not sold yet.
4. The bank scene was easliy the best part. I hope we see an array of his powers. I also hope we see Peter as intellectual and as an Inventor.
5. The Tony scene in the car was really funny but I also agree that I am wary he might steal the show.
All my expectations are not too high but that can easily change with more reveals.
Zendaya isn't MJ so that's a relief...Don't have to worry about Mj being played by another mediocre actress. Still not sold on their pick for Flash Thompson. I don't look at that kid and think major football star and bully of Peter Parker.
@asgardianbrony Marvel's done plenty wrong..Race changing Valkyrie when Bruunhilde is the most popular version, the Mandarin incident in IM 3, Ultron having Tony Stark's personality, and more. Marvel's good but their live action isn't flawless
Back to MJ and Gwen, neither may be in the film but Peter did date Betty Brant at one point and she's on the cast list.
Nice that they made him younger, it was always fun to read Peter in high school, but making Tony the father figure doesn't work for me.
Oh god this looks goddamn awful(no i'm not only talking about the PS1 CG).
I'm sick of Tony Stark in everything and it pisses me off that he basically gives Peter everything. Why not make him marry aunt may and tell Peter uncle Ben's iconic quote while we're at it because why the hell not.
Jesus, Spider-Man started by himself and why the hell Tony Stark? There's Daredevil in the TV series, just make Matt appear instead, he's a better role model and crossover material than Tony Stark will ever be and he actually has REAL history with Peter Parker, we're talking about 60 years of being together in comics ever since both characters were created around the same time.
I'm really disappointed that MCU wants to make Peter into Tony's lap dog, Spider-Man is too big to be the lap dog of a shitty B-lister like Iron Man.
The worst part is that it's not even because he's Iron Man but because he's Tony Robert Downey Jr Stark
I at least hope there's no teenage romance drama. Because they even said that Spider-Man won't punch anyone in the movie because "a kid doesn't punch", like what the fuck? Did these people ever read some comics? Teenage Pete was a huge asshole when he got his powers and he was very easy to anger
@rogueshadow: Tony Stark? Adult???? Are you kidding me? Just because he's older doesn't mean he acts like an adult.
The guy is a manchild.
If you want an Adult then put someone that ACTS like an adult, having a beard doesn't make you one.
@captainsalt: Except RDJ has already stolen other movies, hell he even wanted avengers to be Iron Man and the rest.
The actor is a huge attention wh*** and he ALWAYS wants to be in the spotlight.
Hah! This looks like it could be wonderful. I'm not sure I want Tony to be too present in the film though. I don't feel like he's in the trailer too much (some people say otherwise) but the finished product is what matters.
@bflynn316: Why would you want to put that as a wallpaper? It looks like a Ps2 game. Eh, here's a bigger one
lmao
Dude he can, he deadlifted a beam while injured.
Seriously though, that caught me by surprise. If that's what it looks like Spidey has the best strength feat in the MCU (which is like....why?).
Overall I loved it, super keen.
Spidey is actually the first character in the MCU to really show off his feats of strength. In Civil War, he was able to stop a speeding SUV, block Bucky's punch, and hold up a jet bridge. I'm amazed that a 15 year old is the strongest in the MCU.
Despite the trailer looking great from a production point of view, it's really more of the same formulaic Marvel Studio fanfare, lots of jokey jokey moments and BS Tony Stark inventing everything in the MCU.
So they basically took Miles' Spider-Man concept and gave it to Peter, and renamed Ganke's character as Ned Leeds.
I find it really bizarre that Marvel/Disney/Sony are only using material from the "Ultimate Spider-Man" title, because Peter and Miles are teenagers. Hopefully when the teen movies are all done and dusted, we can move on to the more mature adult Peter we are used to - the way he has been for 90% of the time in comics history.
I find it funny that so many people associate Peter with being a teenage superhero, where in the original 616 ASM run he was only a teenager for a very short time.
I'm aware, pretty clear to everyone but you I was joking.
Its far and away the best lifting feat in the MCU if that trailer is accurate. Hulks is lifting and throwing a tank.
@nerevarine_11: The proper gif would be Batman smashing Superman with a goddamn sink. They're destroying themselves.

I completely agree. The excitement wore off VERY fast, for me at least.
@rogueshadow: I don' know man. I'd rather have Spidey be in a struggle and still do mistakes and learn from them so the audience can relate ther than having everything given to him by a billionaire tech genius.
However you have a valid point with the older audience
I don't think Tony's gonna give him much though, just the suit. I think the film is really gonna be about Peter proving himself, coming out from under Tony's shadow and into his own as a hero, I don't think he's just gonna make Peter his b*tch and keep him on a leash.
@buildhare: Boulder feat=>leviathan feat>>>Spidey's feat
- Looks awesome!...And Tom Holland has so much swag its not even funny.
- I am so hyped for this..Disney is going to make so much bread from this movie.
Am I the only one that every time I see Tom Holland all I see is when he was a kid in billy Elliot? I swear its one of those things that annoy me when a actor does a stage performance that it actually defines there entire career and no matter what movie they are in that stage performance will always be the thing that they are remembered for.
though hopefully because he is playing a iconic character figure in the comic industry this may well break that chain for me!
Im torn about it, I want to see it because I like spider-man but I dont want to sit through another super hero movie that's just a set up for the next pos avengers movie. Oh how I miss standalone superhero movies that aren't molested by characters from a different series. It was cool to see they did another "train stopping" scene but using a boat this time instead.
Vulture looks good. I love Keaton. Life is a circle, man.
I wonder which DCEU villain RDJ will be playing in ten years?
P.S. This thread reminds me how CB fans have earned this sad reputation, some can be asinine whiners whenever a new CB-related movie is released...
I would rather make movies for franchises with more appeasable fan-bases.
@ready_4_madness: I doubt it will be a huge improvement. Besides I'm talking about the trailer, not the movie.
lllllllllllllllove it. A certain must watch but I have a few problems with it like:
1. lame reveal of secret identity
2. okay with Tony being there but not that much.
Apart from that it's awesome.
Tony might overshadow peter
My biggest fear right now
you guys don't have to worry about that. it looks like the scene where stark is dropping peter off is in the beginning of the movie. he is taking him home from all that civil war stuff. tony probably has only 10-20 minutes in the film. this is just a teaser. i bet all of tonyy's scenes are in the trailer.
Interesting...
They should have used Homecoming by Green Day as the song, but other than that...i'm really excited for this
Welcome home Spidey
Let's hope it delivers
LOL I think they are going for a different tone.
Did anybody else think it was going to turn into a hard hitting drama about child abuse when Tony leaned onto Peter?
I'm pretty sure the idiots whom made this thought having iron man in the movie was going to call a lot more fans, but tnot me, they lost me there, us only the trailer and tony has a much screen time as peter, and even worse appears in his armor, when I pay for a movie called spider-man is to watch spider-man not another hero sharing screen with him, specially tony overrated stark
I hate the scene with him whining about tony treating him like a child, he never had to impress or prove anything to another hero when he was starting, why should he be different here? he was always independant, his own agent, and now he only care about holly father tony stark being impressed by him, and the stupid fat guy? don't care who that is, I hate him, looks like the dullest most pointless character, and the idea of anyone knowing his secret is lame
I though it'd be good when I heard liz would be there, that they would show his high school years and write his love story the way it should, but then then comes tony stark to be part of his heroing life, and it fuck everything with nhis godamn mug
@webheadcomics: Dude if miles is in this movie I seriously he would get powers or anything like that. A prowler appearance might come but other than that, why kill off a brand new peter parker? (Tom looks like he is here to stay too) and I think aunt may looks kinda hot (actress is in her 50's i think though)
@shadowpro: Dude dont hate till you watch it. I don't see you stepping up to see the director. Cast is good, story seems okay and not only that Plenty of mcu movies titled for one hero had multiple other guys in it for example
1) cap the winter soldier: black widow and falcon (bucky doesn't count cuz he's a villain)
2) ironman 2: war machine and black widow
3) Hulk: ironman at ending scene
4) thor the dark world: loki shapeshifted into cap (technically still counts)
5) CAPTAIN AMERICA CIVIL WAR: the majority of the avengers (thor and hulk gone, R.I.P quicksilver)
6) Doctor strange: Thor is in ending scene
7) Thor: hawkeye
Not only that who tf cares if ironman is in it. The movie shows events that takes place before civil war so tony being in the movie (not to mention made his suit and is the only other superhero he really knows would be in it. Come on you got an un-experienced 16 year old kid fighting crime). I am really exited for this upcoming spiderman movie. I actually like the what they are trying to do with his love interest and challenges as a kid.
