Can the Joker mentally break Captain America ?

Not in combat . But lets say Joker is hell bent on breaking Cap's Morals and his willpower. He designs a plan to break Cap from the inside , for him to accept defeat and give up trying to protect people.

Can joker pull it off ?

I don't see how breaking someone mentally and morally counts as 'outsmarting' them.

Cap is way better man than Bruce. Also breaking someone mentally has nothing to do with outsmarting someone.

I doubt it, Cap has an exceptionally strong moral compass that he will follow right into the grave if he has to. Also, isn't this something the various Red Skull's have been trying to pull off for decades and in the end has to resort to using an all-powerful trinket to pull off?

No but Cap actually needs a Daredevil-isque story where he breaks in a manner that actually makes him relatable while overcoming it through will. Like Spider-Man used to.

Not in my opinion. He has telepathic defenses in place for things like this I think. And either way his stats will carry him through Joker's prep stages.

I doubt it. Rogers doesn't have a no killing rule, so he'd probably end Joker before he got the chance to do anything too heinous.

I find it hard to believe that Steve wouldn't kill the Joker if he was put through the equivalent of Death in the Family or Killing Joke. I wouldn't consider that breaking him either though.

In what way could Joker break Cap's morals? His whole dance with Batman mainly centers around Batmans refusal to kill. Cap doesn't have that restriction.

I also couldn't see him breaking his willpower for the same reason. If Joker pulls off some heinous sh*t like killing multiple loved ones, Cap would just be fueled by revenge and the result would be the same -- Jokers dead.
