Bruce Timm vs Phil Bourassa: The Better Artist

Phil easily. I can't stand that crap style Timm uses.

I like Bruce Timms style, its an homage to Kirby and just an overall classic style. Bouruossas is great but sometimes the characters curves can look somewhat jagged.

Phil but i like both.

Aw man, BTAS is just a part of my childhood though. Timm's art was meant to be simplistic, there's not a huge color pallete, it's not supposed to be flashy art that takes away from the story because the art isn't the focus. It was all about simplifying Batman for young audiences while still telling great stories. Both are fantastic shows and I don't think comparing the two for their art styles is necessary. But Kevin Conroy is the first man I want to be made immortal so he can be the voice of Batman forever.

See... this is hard for me. I want to say Bruce Timm, but I actually like Phil Bourasse's designs more.

Batgirl and Artemis are definitely hits! The other girls are meh imo. Can't say Timm's women haven't looked terrible at times either though lol

Phil, for the most part. But Timm is a GREAT Story-board artist. I prefer Phil's men and Bruce's women.

Timm's art is nostalgic.

@ganon15: No not Babs, his season 1 girls were great! In S2 they all looked overly or realistically muscular, even Artemis. Imo

I think Tim's women were great! Especially WW in JLU.

Love em both for different reasons

I'm not really a fan of Timm's style ever since I was a kid (although I still love his shows). I'd rather my superheroes be more realistically proportioned rather than Timm style of men with giant upper bodies and women with tiny waists

It's hard to say who is the better artist but Bourassa has a style that seems far more skilled.

However, Timm's style is iconic. I could pick his art out of just about any lineup.

The art design in Young Justice was generic trash. It's not even a fair comparison.

My heart goes to Timm, but Phil is the better more modern artist

I like both,but I edge towards Phil's.

Having said that I think Bruce's is more unique and stand out.

Bruce Timm easily. Its more timeless and has a simplicity and elegance to it.

Phill is a much better artist in terms of proportions and overall anatomy, But Timm has that awesome 30s/40s influenced style thats just so dam unique and iconic. I dont know its a toss up with the edge leaning in favor of Timm. Wait i scratch that Bruce Timm wins by default becuase he had much better stories to go with his art style.

Phil. Timm was groundbreaking in his time but he's been surpassed.
