Black Manta or Black Panther: Who looks cooler?

Black Panther imo. I like Black Manta, but Black Panther us just such a cool looking character.

Off topic : How does Manta even put up a fight with Aqua man if he's only a human in a wetsuit with a laser shooting helmet? I don't read much of Aqua man, but I know he's very powerful physically.

@ecstaticgrace: So he's a thinker then. I know that all villains aren't physical threats, I just didn't know that about him. I've seen him in different media, and he seemed to be portrayed as one of DC 's big bad, but I never seen anything that showed him to be a super schemer. Nor did I see anything that showed that he could contend with comics Arthur, whom I just found out was one of DC' s top powerhouses.

@blacklegraph: Well then. Didn't know all of that. Power doesn't usually make the character for me, but he just got a lot cooler imo. So is Black Manta, at the top of his game, a threat to other heavy hitters like deathsrtoke, or not quite?

Dose DC still use him as a threat in their current comics?

@thelurker: Manta is to Aquaman what Luthor is to Superman. Not a match physically, but his cunning is dangerous.

To be fair, you almost never see any outside media focusing on Aquaman. There are normally two main foes used. Ocean Master and Black Manta.

Manta is a pretty tough opponent though. Give him some prep time, and he's a serious threat. I mean, he managed to kill members of Aquaman's first team, he was recruited by Luthor to join The Injustice League, and he's just an all-around bad dude. In every sense of the word.

In particular, he also had some pretty sweet moments in the Young Justice cartoon series, with Aqualad and Aquaman.

Manta needs a new helmet. That thing has to slow him down on land and in water.

I think it looks unique.
