Every week, we take a look at some of the most bizarre, exciting, and downright unique things to happen in comics. Check out our choices of the strange and wacky things that shouldn't be overlooked from this week's releases.

There may be some tiny spoilers ahead.

Mockingbird #6

Best Reason to Avoid Public Pools

No Caption Provided

Mockingbird received an anonymous invitation on a cruise, promising information that could help clear Hawkeye on his murder trial. She later gets a message to meet by the pool. As a kid jumps into the water, it most likely feels a little warmer than it should.

Best T-Shirt for Corgi Owners

No Caption Provided

Mockingbird discovers that her fellow spy and sometimes lover, Lance Hunter, is on the same cruise she's on. He has his Corgi and is wearing a shirt perfect for Corgi owners.

Suicide Squad #1

Best T-Shirt for Someone in the DC Universe

No Caption Provided

Leave it to Harley Quinn to wear a shirt that says "Rebirth." DC is currently using the Rebirth banner across all their books under the initiative of returning elements from the characters' previous continuity.

Best Sign that Pokemon Go is Everywhere

No Caption Provided

The Squad's current mission takes them out into space. Harley checks her phone (and amazingly has reception). It turns out she's able to find "Pokecuteys" up there.

Deadpool: Too Soon? Infinite Comic #4

Best Titanic Reference

No Caption Provided

While searching for clues to a murder, Deadpool and Ant-Man end up on a ship. Deadpool insists they reenact a certain scene from the movie.

Batman #5

Best Alternate Batman

No Caption Provided

Batman is trying to deal with the new hero, Gotham, who has become a little unhinged. As a distraction, he has Alfred suit up in a Bat-suit to drive the Batmobile while implementing the next part of his plan.

Power Man and Iron Fist #7

Best Alternative to Cursing

No Caption Provided

As a father, Luke Cage is trying his best to refrain from swearing in front of his kid. While talking to Misty Knight (and Jessica Jones on the phone), he lets out another classic alternative. Maybe it will catch on.

Supergirl: Rebirth #1

Best Return of a Character That's Been Away

No Caption Provided

Supergirl hasn't been in many comics lately. With her return, her powers were messed up. With some help, she's managed to reignite her abilities and makes a dramatic entrance.

Best Use of a Cape

No Caption Provided

People often ask why superheroes use capes. They can easily get in the way or be used against a hero during a fight. Supergirl shows how it can be used while fighting a Kryptonian werewolf.

All-New Wolverine #11

Best Evading Maneuver

No Caption Provided

S.H.I.E.L.D. believes Old Man Logan is going to kill someone based off a prediction from an Inhuman. Logan is currently recovering at Laura's apartment after she freed him when he was swallowed by Fin Fang Foom. Facing Captain America as well as S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers, Laura easily avoids being detained by them.

Harley Quinn #2

Best Kick

No Caption Provided

After an alien landed on Earth and assumed the form of a cow, he was processed into meat and eaten by several people on Coney Island. This resulted in the population being turned into zombies. Harley is fighting alone and shows off her skills.

Civil War II: Choosing Sides #4

Best Advice About Reading on the Internet

No Caption Provided

Of course, this isn't true for every single site on the internet, but Julie Power offers her brother some good advice about comments posted online.

Best Silent Showdown

No Caption Provided

It's Black Widow vs. Nick Fury Jr. The scene doesn't need any words or sound effects.

Aquaman #5

Best Reason Not to Attack Aquaman and Mera with Tanks

No Caption Provided

This could also be called, "Tanks, but no tanks."

There's a little misunderstanding going on. Aquaman allowed himself to be detained by the government. Mera broke him out, and they're being attacked by the military. Mera shows that tanks won't stop them. Neither will the helicopters in the next scene.

The Unbelievable Gwenpool #5

Best Example Why Being a Police Officer in a Comic World is Tough

No Caption Provided

Being a police officer isn't an easy job. You never know what to expect. Imagine what it must be like in a world with super-beings and creatures from the unknown. All they want to do is their job. There's just no way you can arrest a monster.

Green Arrow #5

Best Kiss

No Caption Provided

Black Canary thought Green Arrow was dead. She yells at him for letting her believe that was the case. When it looks like things are over between them, she makes it clear how it really is.

Black Widow #6

Best Preparation Before a Major Butt-Kicking Session

No Caption Provided

Black Widow's life has been turned upside down. She's about to confront those responsible for the hell she's been through. She looks like she's more than ready to deal with them.

Justice League #3

Best Question to Ask Batman

No Caption Provided

Batman is known for pretty much always being serious. You don't often see him smile. It could be that no one's offered him a cookie before.

The Mighty Thor #10

Best Reason to Take the Day Off

No Caption Provided

In the Marvel Universe, Roxxon is a scummy corporation. Its C.E.O., Dario Agger, is as low as they come. After being captured, protocol leads to the place being destroyed. At least the recorded message to employees offers the suggestion of taking the rest of the day off.

I Hate Fairyland #8

No Caption Provided

Gertrude is still trapped in Fairyland. She's visiting a seer to get her fortune. Once the fortune telling is over, she offers to give him a pair of eyes in exchange for a special golden coin. As you can see, the eyes are pretty gross.

That's it this week. Let us know in the comments below what other Best Stuff you dug this past week. Thanks to @CapMarvel4Ever for his suggestions. If you want to participate or felt we missed some other Best Stuff, don't complain, contribute, especially if you didn't offer any suggestions. Each week you can @reply me on Twitter at @GManFromHeck by Saturdays using the hashtag #BestStuffInComics. We'll give you a shout out and I'll think you're pretty groovy.

Be sure to always look for the best stuff and always be sure to resist organ transplants from questionable sources. Chances are the results will end up being gross.

Cap's shield may be unbreakable. The straps? Not so much.

However they missed a more important one:Best reason why trying to punish people before the crime is a STUPID idea

They didn't use that, because it spoils the last page of the issue (I hope she manifests a healing factor!)

Huh? When has 616 MJ ever had short hair? I don't know how you can confuse her and Natasha.

I can think of two more, both relating to the Choosing Sides Power Pack story:

  • Best show of optimism: The kids discuss Alex Power and Franklin Richards, and are positive that they will see them again (they're both with the Future Foundation and believed dead).
  • Worst continuity error: How can Julie be 16 when she was 17 in Runaways, Loners, and Avengers Academy? She's also established as being two years younger than Alex, who was stated to be 19 in FF. And with the Secret Wars timeskip too, she should be 18.

It's not like they were trying to punish him - they wanted to have a closer look and talk for some time. If you'd just take a closer look at issue you'd see it, as well as fact that Old Man was little unhinged about Gabby for a some time. As well as fact that he had habit of killing people who'd hurt him in future of his reality. So it's not so simple as you'd like it to be.

Logan's problems with Gabby were addressed in issue 10. He was wary but giving her the benefit of the doubt after Laura (rightly) pointed out these were two different universes, and had no intent on doing anything to her.

SHIELD turns up to detain him even though he hasn't done anything. Laura outright objects, but Logan is calm and at least willing to hear Cap out. Maria Hill tells Cap to clear the way so her snipers can take the shot to put him down. Logan and Laura overhear this, and that's the point Logan decides to make his escape. SHIELD pursues and blows him up, Logan flips his shit and goes feral, mistakes our Gabby for HIS universe's Gabby, and in his confused state snikts her on accident.

If SHIELD doesn't try to detain Logan, none of what Ulysses saw comes to pass (Cap even SPECIFICALLY says that the jet packs Logan and Gabby use in their escape was part of his vision).

It really IS that simple, and is ENTIRELY SHIELD's fault.

@ambaryerno: Previous issue, Shield nowhere around. He's already suspicious. Yes, Hill screwed up.
If they'd just talk about it and not start a fight, then Wolverine'd not go berserk. Yes, Hill's acting dumb... and Cap had his reasons to expect worst from Wolverine. They met when Wolverine was trying to kill some villian with ties to his future. But that does not make attempt itself to prevent vision a bad idea, that just means that Shield (not Ulysses and not Cap) screwd up. Again.

Suspicious, but in no way motivated to actually do anything. Certainly not KILL her. So again, there's absolutely NO indication Logan would have done anything had SHIELD not meddled.

@ambaryerno: The most stupid person there is Logan. He kills his universe's entire X-Men because he went feral and careless. Didn't fight for years and learned self-restraint. Now he flips his shit and does this because some agents attacked him (Cap actually approached really calmly). Seems like not only did he learn anything but is an insane nutjob who should be locked away.

You're forgetting the part where Maria Hill BLEW HIM UP and then had her agents shoot him with about FIFTY tranq darts. So he flipped his shit over a TAD more than some agents attacking him.

And no, he did NOT kill his universe's X-Men because he went feral and careless. He killed his universe's X-Men because he got brainwashed into it.

jk, he still should have learned not to SNIKT people all the time. Also he is the Wolverine, the attack on him is just a regular Tuesday. No reason to stab a young girl standing next to him trying to help.

Oh, now people can learn to not be confused after getting blown up and shot with enough tranquilizers to down an elephant?

If only Logan knew that he could have just done that!

And no, he's not Wolverine, so you can stop blaming him for everything.

You'll want to finish out the first arc (1-6) for sure. Issue 7 is a breather, while 8-9 are sort of an interlude setting up the Civil War arc which runs from 10-12.

Lance Hunter was better when he was an old fat guy before Agents of SHIELD made him young and not fat for sole reason that, back then, characters and backstories weren't randomly altered to align with a movie or a tv show.

You're forgetting this is the new Marvel, where everything's made up and the continuity doesn't matter.

Those t-shirts perfectly show the difference between DC and Marvel: where Marvel goes for lowbrow and toilet humor, DC cleverly provides something relevant.

@stellar421: I'd also like to add that the tshirt joke that marvel elected to use is actually better because it services the character. It tells us that this character is not embarrassed to wear something like this, and that he is a bit crass, on top of being silly on a surface level (which is apparently all that you chose to contemplate) by showing a corgi butt. You think that just making a metatextual joke by putting 'rebirth' on a shirt is clever? It seems to be a rather lazy version of breaking the fourth wall. If anything it pulls the reader out of the narrative. Did you have to make this a DC vs Marvel thing? No one else wanted to make it a DC vs Marvel thing.
