Batman or Detective Comics?

I'm expanding my collection and I have narrowed it down to two books, Batman or Detective Comics.

I can't decide so I'll let CV do it for me.

Batman. Without question. The next 11 issues will be wonderfully self-contained also, so you won't have to worry about buying extra tie-ins.

Detective Comics has been bad.

I would suggest Detective now that Death of The Family and Requiem tie in issues are out of the way. Snyder's new origin will run for almost a year and if The Court Of Owls or the Joker did not sell you on his run I doubt the next arc will either.

Detective Comics isn't bad, but Batman blows it outta the water.

Have you been reading Layman's run? It's pretty good....

Detective Comics is great since Layman took over, but if you aren't currently reading Batman you have to go Batman.

I gave Layman a three-issue trial on Detective. He didn't pass. Judging on some of the critical reviews not from CV (where everybody gets 4-5 stars), it's only been a marginal improvement over Tony Daniel.

Batman. But honestly if there is any batman book other than Batman that you should be getting its Batman and Robin its the second best batman book

Well if you're including all bat titles in the new 52 I'd say batman, batman and robin, batman inc, Detective comics, batman dark knight last but legends of the dark knight has been good but out of continuity...but my opinion means nothing cause I like detective comics :p

Detective Comics. Layman is great.

I hear Detective Comics will continue to be self contained 1 issue stories that will build up to tell a grand story, while Batman seems to have many long story arcs. so depends what you are looking for. Im personally am reading and enjoying both right now.
