Darth Vader, formerly known as Anakin Skywalker, felt something in the force, he hasn't felt something like this in years, a tug to the light, 'No, it's nothing' Vader thought to himself, a Stormtrooper approached and started talking but Vader wasn't listening, he simply ignored the trooper and entered one of the specially made rooms in the New Deathstar, had his suit removed, and began to meditate.
He was back in Cloud City, he was dueling with someone, someone young, Luke, that's Luke. The fighting continues, Vader has his opponent right where he wants him, he gets prepared to chop the boys hand off, but a voice in his head stops him, Luke freezes in place, and Vader turns around, what he sees is Anakin Skywalker, he thinks 'Impossible' he raises the Lightsaber to strike at the Jedi, Anakin simply lifts his hand and Vader also freezes "I killed you!" Vader proclaims, the young Jedi chuckles and speaks, "You can't kill what is apart of you, this isn't you, this dark lord, you aren't Darth Vader, your Anakin Skywalker" Vader sighs, confused at what this is, "Is this a trick, or some sort of test" Vader says "Neither, I'm just here to remind you who you are" Anakin says, then Vader is taken back further.
He's on Tatooine, he walks into a shop, and sees a little boy talking to a girl, he goes to approach them and then realizes, "No, this is some sort of trickery, I know it!" Vader shouts, he turns to older Anakin, Vader reaches for his Lightsaber, then realizes it's not there, then he attempts to put the Jedi in a force choke, that doesn't work either, when that fails he simply charges at Anakin, he goes strait through him "Why are you doing this?!" Vader shouts "To show you that you can go back, you can change" Anakin says.
Then Vader is on Naboo, he sees Anakin as a padawan, and Padme, Vader remembers "We… we got married here" he says, why didn't I remember this until now?" Vader asks the Jedi "You've trained yourself to forgot, because it pulled you to close to the light" Anakin says.
Then Vader sees something else, that was buried deep in his memories, Ahsoka Tano, Anakin is hurt, Ahsoka is doing everything in her power to help her master, then he sees his old master, Obi-Wan, that was truly his brother, Vader feels a stronger tug to the light, he wills this vision to stop, he's back in Cloud City, Luke is frozen, Vader is in striking position, the scene unfreezes, and Vader makes a choice, that will change everything, instead of taking the boys hand, he deactivated his saber, he turns to Anakin, "Show me more" the Dark Lord says.
Vader and Anakin are in the Chancellors chambers, then Mace Windu and a team of Jedi enters, conversation begins, then Lightsabers ignite, three Jedi are swiftly killed, Mace is the only one who remains, Mace sinks into Vaapad, and it appears as if he is winning, then a different Anakin enters, more talking, the Anakin from the past is forced to make a choice between the Jedi and the Sith, he sees himself make the mistake, he takes the Jedi's hand, the same Jedi he called a brother, one he's fought with side by side, a friend, then the scene goes back, by minutes, Anakin is making his choice again, the Anakin he's been speaking to all along speaks "Will you make the same mistake, will you become Vader, and betray your brothers and sisters, your family?" the Jedi asks, Vader wills his past self to make a choice, past Anakin turns his blade, on Sidious, then Sidious reveals he was simply attempting to turn the Jedi and he wasn't really beaten, then it stops, Vader looks to the Anakin that was speaking to him moments before "Why did it stop?" Vader asks "What happens after is irrelevant, you just needed to realize you didn't need to join him"
Now Vader is on Mustafar, "This is our last stop" the Anakin that Vader has been speaking with disappears, Vader's Lightsaber has returned, odd, then he starts walking, he sees Anakin, yelling at Padme, Anakin raises his hand to begin a force choke, but Vader ignites his saber and rushed at his younger, evil self, Dark Anakin, suprised, simply ignites his saber as well, red and blue clash, "You won't hurt her!" Vader yells, Vader uses the force to push Anakin back, Anakin then starts lifting crates with the force and throwing them at Vader, he deflects them with ease, then more Lightsaber combat, Anakin lands a strike on Vader, then another, Vader sees the Darkness in the boys face "NO!" Vader shouts, he charges at Anakin, helmet first, Anakin hits the ground hard, Vader strikes downwards but his red saber is deflected by the blue one, Anakin gets in one hit, another, then he gets a strike at the helmet, Vader is one the floor, he does something he hasn't done in years, he quits drawing on the dark, and draws on the light, he is instantly filled with power and then he defeats his younger self.
Now he is in an empty room, with his younger Jedi self, "Are you ready to do what has to be done?" Anakin asks, Vader takes a moment "Yes"
Then he wakes up, he puts his suit back on and enters his chambers, he opens a box, the blue saber, his old saber that he found and hid after the events in Cloud City, he straps it onto his belt next to his red blade, he enters the Emperors throne room "Leave us" Vader says to everyone in the room, the Emperor is on edge, something isn't right with Vader, Vader takes a saber in each hand, his red blade, and old blue one, and ignites them, the Emperor stands up and ignites his own saber "You are no longer a Sith Lord, you are now a rival!" he says, and then, the fight for the Galaxy begins
