Avoid team books unless you really, really, really want to write them. Focus on the Nightwing story first. See how far you can get, because if you can't handle one character's development, you probably shouldn't start off managing five at once.

If you're not confident, capable and good at writing nine plus characters simultaneously, giving each a voice and ample time to shine then stick to a simple story.
Since I haven't seen anything else you've written I highlighted dngn's advice because it is GOOD advice. Up to you what you do with it.
