How to enter the writer for a comic that's adapted from a book?

When a comic does not have a "writer" listed, but lists who "adapted" it, what is the official policy of ComicVine for entering the creators? Do we put the writer as the original author(s) of the source material, the person or people who adapted it for comics, or both?

For example:

• Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
• The Seven Per-Cent Solution

@nosoop4u: I usually mark the adaptation person as Other and the original writer as Writer, I don't always include the original writer though, it just depends on what it is an adaption of and if the adaptation writer worked with the original writer since we don't want lots of non-comic authors having pages.
