Whenever I try to italisize or bold anything it disappers, how do I stop this?

By any chance, are you clicking on the B & I buttons?  The same thing happens to me when I use the crappy Internet Explorer 7 at work.  Try using CTRL + B and CTRL + I instead.

I thought it was just the crappy resources at work, but it looks like an actual IE bug.
