Handbook question.

I tried to do a forum search on this topic but couldn't find any. My question is about listing character appearances in books like Who's Who or the various Marvel Handbooks. Do characters that are only referenced in biographies but still pictured, but without their own separate entries, counted as an appearance?

I noticed some characters were deleted from the Handbook pages and was curious.

@mshirley27: probably not, I'd need some examples but from your description it doesn't sound like a full appearance.
