I just have a quick question:
Does the CV take submissions on Graphic Novels, or only comics (ie issues collected into TPBs)?
Graphic Novel being Neil Gaiman's Coraline
Comic TPB being Exiles Volume 6

I'd love an answer.
Thanks, LB

@LightBright:
Well, the term 'graphic novel' is just the more mature definition for comics. Just how decades ago they used to be called 'funny books'.

I've always hated the term graphic novel.

Writer Neil Gaiman, responding to a claim that he does not write comic books but graphic novels, said the commenter "meant it as a compliment, I suppose. But all of a sudden I felt like someone who'd been informed that she wasn't actually a hooker; that in fact she was a lady of the evening."

Most graphic novels aren't graphic novels... they're trade paperback collections ;)

I was just being silly... I didn't think that CV shouldn't include them.  Although I do find it frustrating when tpb's appear in a character's 'most recent appearances' I don't think that's a reason not to have them.  I just think of them as a different format, maybe they should have their own genre instead of being classed as a volume so people who want to collect trades would know where to look.

It's been suggested before?  Then we should suggest it more often till we get it made ;)

I think it would be a small, but handy addition.  People who don't want to go to all the trouble of collecting issues and having gaps in the story could just click on the Search > Graphic Novels (or Trades or whatever you want to call it) and it could have a 'collects issues #...' section which would then link it directly to the pages for the actual issues (in a similar way to adding allies/enemies on one character's page makes it also appear on the other character's).

(don't worry about it... it's just been a bad bad day)
