I have an idea for a new contest.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the next one, but maybe in the distant future, once we get organized enough for it. Also, it doesn't need to be for any prize, since it's just sort of a fun thing for people to get together and do.

We do it a lot on the board I go to right now, in different forms. One is called,

The 3vs3

Basically, a set even number of participents choose 3 comic book characters (within reason, don't go choosing The Living Tribunal or some guy you made up in the third grade in some little comic strip) to fight as a team in a neutral and enclosed environment against other contestant's teams. Each contestant provides a strategy they would see their team using to win, and then the fights are voted on either anonymously through email or here on the board. Unfortunately, sometimes this comes down to a simple popularity contest or somebody voting based on a lack of knowledge about a given character. Not much can be done about it.

The Eisner Cup

I'm not altogether sure if this was created on that board, or somewhere else. Regardless, it's a much more complicated and solid version of the 3vs3. The first stage involves everybody nominating characters to be eligible for the Cup, and people with enough knowledge regarding fairness deciding which of the nominations gets in or not. These characters are then put into various Tiers (usually about five) of power. Each tier has a set amount of "points" for all the characters therein. Tier 1 characters might be worth 10 points, while Tier 5 would be 50. Then, like the 3vs3, a set even number of participents sign up for the Cup. What proceeds after that is the Bidding stage, seen in the link above. All participants are given the same amount of points, maybe around 200-300, to bid on 6 (instead of 3) characters they want in their team. To bid, they must send an email to the administartor of the Tournament containing who they want to bid on, and how many points they bid. They cannot go over the set amount given to them. This stage could go on for several rounds, or just one. Finally when bidding is over, the contestants with the highest bids on their selected characters have their team assembled. Again, like previously, the teams are pit against eachother and the fights are voted on by users.

I just thought this might be fun for the community to get together and do. Really helps everyone get to know one another.

Blink would be the most dangerous since she could easily do something like send my entire team into the sun. I could make a case for each of them surviving that (maybe not a good one for all of them), but I don't think it will get that far. Majestic can shoot down any teleportation spikes before they get close so that should make her less of a threat. Marrow's spikes couldn't kill anyone on my team (Cru and Aspen would just reform and Majestic wouldn't notice if he let it hit him) and Omega Red would be dead before the poison would have a chance to hurt anyone and his tentacles can't do anything for the same reasons that Marrow's spikesc can't. Majestic is fast enough to punch them all in the head (and kill them) before they could react; Aspen could rip the blood from their bodies, suffocate them in a water bubble or just laser blast their heads off; and Cru's lasers and claws are more than capable of killing any of the three.

Anyone on my team can take Gravnos’ entire team.

Hmmm, well I'm at a disadvantage by posting first, but oh well.

Here's my strategy.

I'll let Omega Red tank, he can use his death factor to weaken anybody in meele combat with him, and he can use his tenticles to pin the enemies down and make them stay near him.

Marrow can then throw her bones at the pinned opponets or distract the ones that Omega Red has yet to snare

Blink will stay in the back, throwing her teleportation daggers at anybody that escapes Omega's grasp while he pounds away on them. Blink could also teleport a pesky foe or 2 away while Omega Red and Marrow destroy them one at a time.

You can vote for your own team, but it doesn't really make a difference. I vote for Buckshot, because his team is crazy powerful, not to mention Majestic's intelligence level. I'd like to think that I could beat them using the combined smarts and might of my team, but I'm not so sure.

I think I'm gonna vote for my team, if blink stays defensive and teleports anybody that feels like attacking away, and Omega Red keeps everybody in a weakened state I see no reason why the Russian equal of wolverine with marrow couldn't take 'em down.

Well, Blink doesn't really have the chops to see a Superman-level character, who doesn't hold back in the slightest, coming down and eviscerating her. And Cru wouldn't affected in the littlest tiny bit by Omega's pheromones.
