Curious About the Comic Vine/Twitter Contests?
You might have seen the little ad above pop up occasionally. I meant to write about it to let everyone know but...oops. It's really simple. If you're 'following' us, at random times, a trivia question will go out. The first person to '@' reply to ComicVine wins. It's that easy.
We've had our first round the other day. The question was "In what issue did Moon Knight first appear?" Not too hard, right? And if you didn't know, you have this great resource at your fingertips to find the answer. We literally started getting answers withing seconds. This was the prize won by samversionone:
We will be doing more of these. The key is, there's no telling when. The prize won't always be the same. It could be more or less comics. Maybe an action figure or t-shirt. We plan on mixing things up. They also won't take place at the same 'time.' Basically, you just have to be on your toes (although I might give a warning at my own Twitter account). So good luck and be prepared. Make sure you are following us.
shhh....don't tell anyone about this ...I want to win.
BTW dang you Sam I was only 30secs behind you.
" @Lord's Angel said:Yea I need to switch of Twirl I guess.....little drag time." shhh....don't tell anyone about this ...I want to win. BTW dang you Sam I was only 30secs behind you. "haha. Sorry man. :) I'd like to thank my Tweetdeck for working properly that day. "

Yes. You need to be able to @reply to ComicVine.
WHAT? The contest was started and over when I just checked my twitter.... everyone is so fast on the keys
We just had our second winner! The question was "What is written on the sleeves of Mr. Terrific's jacket sleeves?"
jcardali won the following comics:
" can people from the uk enter ??? :D "If you're on Twitter, you can play. We've shipped comics to different parts of the world before. As long as your local customs officials are cool with comics and stuff in the mail, we'll send them. But you do have to live on Earth and in this dimension/reality. Otherwise things start to get a bit sticky.
Think I'll maybe give away an action figure from 1996 (still in original packaging) in the next contest. When? You'll have to wait and see...
"I believe the other person has to be following you in order for you to DM them. I guess it keeps people from hassling the celebrities or whatever.ok very stupid question but how do you direct message?
okay never mind i found out how but it wont let me direct message Comicvine

All staff and mods should have a picture like this "
Ah, the excitement of Twitter. In case you missed it, we just had another contest just moments ago. The question was what was the name of the Elektra Skrull. The winner was @ AbishaiZ. There were some that were just seconds away from winning. The prize for this contest was a sealed X-Men Light Up Weapon Elektra from 1996. (It was originally a Psylocke figure that was repainted and made into a variant) I can't say if it still lights up. Probably needs a new battery.
There will be more of these trivia contests. Make sure you're following us on Twitter (and once again, I did give a heads up on my GManFromHeck account).
" @G-Man: Are the contests at random or is there a certain time and date when they occur? "They are random just to make it fair. I try to have them on different days and different times to accommodate everyone around the world. Also it's a matter of when I feel like doing them. I sometimes give some warning on my Twitter page.

We just had another Twitter contest. The question was "Who was Deadpool's main contact at Landau, Luckman and Lake?" The winner (in just under 2 minutes) was @SexualLeprosy. The next person to ask was literally seconds behind (sorry @JoeyCastro). Here was the prize:
It's that easy to win. I also gave a minute advanced warning on my GManFromHeck account.
ugh...i was so close on that Deadpool question! Seconds behind!
I suppose I'll have to be more alert next time
-Joey
Here was the prize this time:
There was actually a tiny lag on this one. It gave me time to post here as well. When the answers came in, they were literally a few seconds apart.
I never check my twitter when it matters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
" can brits win this are prizes shippable? "Yes, as long as there's no crazy customs rules, we ship all over the world.
