Tension Rises in Schism #2 with the Return of the Sentinels & a Former Student

There might not be a whole lot going on in Prelude to Schism but looking at the images for Schism #2, we're getting more of an idea.

Schism is intended to be the event of the summer for the X-Men. It'll be interesting to see the reception this event will get when Fear Itself is still going on and Spider-Island will be happening as well. Fear Itself is meant to be the giant event involving all the Marvel Universe while this, and others, are meant to be smaller and more self-contained.

Schism will be written by Marvel Architect Jason Aaron and with art by Frank Cho. What we can see in these preview pages is Sentinels are attacking.

Sentinels? Really? This clearly can't be the big threat that is threatening to wipe out all Mutankind. How many times have the X-Men dealt with the Sentinels? There's got to be something else brewing. Wolverine and Cyclops will be banding the mutants on Utopia together to take on the threat head-on. The tension is boiling and one of them will go too far.

Easy money says it's Wolverine but maybe it will actually be Cyclops that causes the Schism. We should be finding out in July. And if all that wasn't enough, check out the last preview page below for the return of a certain character that is bound to cause more problems.

Schism #2 is on sale July 27, 2011 and will have a $3.99 price tag.

Obviously Rouge is trying to distract the Sentinels with that much cleavage. 

My theory is news of X-Force is released to the public which initiates a sentinel no-holds-barred beat down on mutants. Quentin escapes the basement (he is still in their basement, right? He was there at the end of Endsong and I presume they brought him along to San Fran aswell) and offers to help out. Of course, given his past, there'll be a massive "We can't trust him" "We have no choice!", one thing will lead to another and BOOM Wolverine and Cyclops are no longer bestest buds

the sentinels were  attacking  musllims so wrong  would did they do terrorist do wrong thinngs and kill muslims in pakistan each day they suffer each day(public im talking about) so wrong they are clearly muslims as if they arn't suffering enoughthat just made me angry i hope(well demand from marvel) they have a logical explanation for this  poor dust

maybe the X-Men are bored with fighting sentinels by now....I would be....but in that pic with Rogue ripping the head off- they all look like they're really phoning it in

the sound effect from Cyke's optic blast should be "BLAHHHH!"

I'm glad Cho is doing the art.  Ever since I saw his art In Mighty Avengers I've been a big fan of his.

I hope for once they will make Quentin smart. This guy is supposed to be a genius, but he only ever seem to do the dumbest things.

I just wish things weren't so spoiled in solicits. I firmly believe that if solicits didn't reveal much, people wouldn't be as jaded with comics.

Also why bring back the 60's Sentinels, they aren't  a threat anymore, someone should use the prime sentinels again

1.  Cyclops says "mutants should be seperate - on Utopia" 
2.  Wolverine says "Mutants should mingle with humans." 
 
The big question is WHY do they say that.  And I can't think of a darned reason why.

Not sure its in character for Quentin to wear pants that baggy. I'm guessing its Cassandra Nova in drag. 

I want to pick Schism up, but if I do then my pull list will probably snap in half...

Retro Sentinels being a threat? Seriously?

It is Quintin, it was confirmed quiet awhile ago that he will be a major factor in Schism.  My guess, he turns the Sentinels on the humans, and on the X-Men, in order to bring him down, and stop this, the X-Men have to kill him.  Causing a schism in the team.  Some siding with Wolverine and others siding with Cyclops.  Even though Cyclops has had Logan do these things in the past for him, he will have problem making that decision now, especially with the mutants potentially returning in numbers, and knowing that this was a former student, that they failed.  We'll see though.  Should be good.
