Rob Liefeld's BLOODSTRIKE Brings in a New Recruit

Legendary comics writer Rob Liefeld (YOUNGBLOOD, COVENANT, Deadpool) brings readers an all new ongoing series in BLOODSTRIKE #1. The new series will offer a lively romp and display a more mature side to Liefeld than fans have previously experienced.

In BLOODSTRIKE #1 a new recruit to the Bloodstrike program (his identity as a mystery man from the historical Extreme Universe is soon to be revealed) struggles on a covert mission and loses his life as well as his junk to the mysterious Tragedy Ann.

"After 28 years in the wonderful comic book business, the stories I'm interested in creating are stories that take you on a wild ride. Otherwise, why bother?" said Liefeld. Bloodstrike is by far the wildest ride I've ever produced and continues concepts and characters I introduced at Image when this amazing company launched. It is a decidedly more contemporary take and is intended for mature readers and will be labeled as such. Very excited to get this out to the public for their consumption!"

BLOODSTRIKE #1 hits stores on July 8 and can be pre-ordered with Diamond Code MAY150484. The final order cut-off deadline for retailers is Monday, June 15.

@golden_cod: now that is an uncanny similarity. One has to wonder if the series will be Just X-force with new colours and slightly different faces. And obviously iphones in hands that were obviously intended to be empty, thus the modernisation or whatever he said about it. Won't even brothertook scrolling up to check. Still gonna read, at least ironically.

No Rob! You were on such a nice roll with letting your characters be radically reinvented by other creative teams (see Glory and Prophet). Don't fall back into old patterns now...

He's like a father who abandons his kid, the kig becomes rich and famous and the dad shows up 25 years later taking credit for it lol.

He milks that creation and fans suck on his butt, but the personality and even appearance of deadpool has changed since rob has touched him.

I once read a quote that went something like "Show me an interesting Rob Liefeld character, and I'll show you the other creators who made them interesting"

I've got nothing against the guy, and I kinda have a soft spot for his art style, but there's no denying his creations are better off in other people's hands.

I never did like those reinventions of Glory and Prophet that much. They were...Ehhhhhhh.

I'm gonna have to agree as well.... growing up reading comics in the 90s Liefeld was one of the biggest names along with mcfarlane,and jim lee. so when i just saw that cover it did remind of of the 90s with all the image books and of course with the new mutants and so fourth. i can't say i'm jumping on this title if i see it at my LCS, but if my pulls for the week are only a few then i might buy it.

i suppose what i said was harsh so i take it back but come on....that's clearly a redesign of other characters People get mad fun of for "fan made" character redesigns but this is okay?

If people like his art, then let them like it:P It's like kicking a dog while it's down. He does what he like's , im not judging him on that.
