How are they possibly justifying a pregnant woman fighting crime? I've been waiting for...something to make this make sense but so far, there's been nothing.

@anjon: What you may notice is that, in this preview, she is not fighting crime. She is watching and directly.

Also, many people continue to work while Pregnant, police officers for example, are able to get pregnant and continue to do police stuff, until they are in their third trimester.

Similiar, everyone else in employment.

Additionally, this is fictional.

Am a huge fan of the character and Im super glad shes getting another solo, but this feels like a total BS retcon. A total 180 for the character taking her back to a time period when 1970s run wasn't doing too well and flushing down the toilet 30 years of development. Hopeless better knock this out of the park or I'm not gonna forgive him.

Also can we get the old mask back, the glasses are lame.

raising a child seems like a bad weekly blog series or something

Also why is she wearing her normal suit while pregnant? Someone would see her and be like "ah hey there's spider woman. I know that cause I recognize her outfit and WHAAA she's pregnant? Oh this'll be easy. She's not even wearing anything over her gorging pregnant stomach. Just a t-shirt!"

This series will go into a trash bin. A pregnant superhero saving people is really absurd, and a bad idea. Yes, she can have a child and have someone take care of him/her. But being pregnant and fighting at the same time is really bad.

If only it was someone like Ellis, Ennis, or Moore writing this. First villain she fought/came into contact with kicks her square in the stomach.

I'm going to buy this for the same reason folks rubber-neck at accidents. Guess Marvel did their job successfully then!

BTW... shes a pregnant woman standing on top of a car less than a block from where a super-powered fire-fight is going on. Pretty sure social services should take that child away at birth...

@bkole: Since marvel is doing an eight month time skip she's been prego for about probably seven or eight month. No pregnant woman should be fight crime 8 months in.

Interesting how everyone says she shouldn't be fighting crime while pregnant, yet we don't actually see her FIGHTING. All the action happening is far from her, and she's not involved. I'm guessing at first she'll be an observer or give support like Oracle was to Batman (though not necessarily tech support).

I really hope this is as good as Someone Call SuperSocial Services, Volume 2, Number 32, No one puts a BatBaby on the BatCorner!!!

That variant cover is great, this book could either be fantastic because its so weird and wacky or just screwed up, but I respect the writer thinking a bit outside the box and I'm sure there are parents out there that would like a book they can relate to in some ways.

there are ways in which you could pull off this kinduva storyline and make it intruiging and well worth the read... but I sincerely doubt this'll be one of them. for one thing the whole things wildly out of character for jessica drew in the first place, which doesn't bode well.

Why would they put Jessica Drew in this kind of position, just as she was getting her Solo run started... This will do nothing but hurt the book.

I will reserve harsh critism until I see the 'details' but I HIGHLY doubt they are gonna pull some 'amazing' storyline that will make this all make sense and feel gratified. It will probably be tacky, gimmicky and in the worse case, insulting and uncomfortable that would make Jessica look awful to a point her book gonna get cancelled. I sincerely hope that doesn't happen.

Marvel must be destroying its characters for good reason...........
