I think this is the first time I've actually felt nostalgic about spider-verse. The event was okay, but Cheung's art makes me really want to see a sequel.

Peter only just clicks that ock was inside that dumb robot? can he be written any denser, or weaker for that matter should be using his fists instead of those lame gadgets.

How was he suppose to know? And his fists only works if he can get close enough to Doc

So this is a copy of Ock's brain patterns from before he gave Peter his body back.

Itt kinds of messes with that awesome last heroic act Doc Ock made.

Not sure how i feel about that.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. That last moment with him as Superior Spider-man did so much for the character, hate for it to kind of be pushed away for his brain patterns from before to ruin that.

Peter can't put two and two together that a robot who flips out after explaining to it how ock was defeated and it sees peter with his midget lover might actually be octavious inside. He shouldn't act so shocked at least.

I think "Doc Ock programmed robot avenge him" is easier to believe than "Doc Ock made a copy of his brain patterns inside the robot." Sure, he should expect it by now, as his life has been REALLY weird with clones and spidergods and stuff, but still.

Great art and it's about to go down! I'm enjoying it.

My only reservation is Slott opened Gwen's pandora's box and he better know what to do with it.

My guess is...he does not know what to do with Gwen's pandora's box since already we have Gwen's retconned last thoughts of her 'hating Peter' now.

Although Cheung's art is GORGEOUS. Pity he's been partnered up with Slott.

This series better not end with Gwen staying alive.

@wowlock: Well i thought that part was fine and done as best as i can expect it especially with the art and the original scene.

It's how he ties it all together at the end that matters. I'll go along for now.

The art is gorgeous, but I expect nothing less from Cheung. Other than that, though . . . don't really care.

Certainly is. I never really cared much for different artists contributing in the Spider books. But Chueng's art looks really good here.

The Spider-Verse had a really good interesting ideal concept, but the overall story was "okay" for me as well. Cheung's art is awesome, indeed.

So all that teary-eyed, come-to-Jesus moment at the end of Superior Spider-Man Issue #31 when Octavius calls Peter a true hero and should be the true Spider-Man doesn't count now?? Seriously Slott, you do some good narratives on that Superior run and then eat a huge bean burrito and then proceed to make a massive dump on your own previous work, just to bring us this Clone rehash crap?? Some characters should just be left alone. Every time I see Gwen Stacy now, I think how can we drag her through the mud this time?? Gwen Stacy, Parker's one time true love now relegated to gimmicks *cough-cough Gwenpool *cough, and a plot device in weak storylines...

My question is...does Jackal know he's got the real Doctor Octopus to deal with? There's no way he's going to go along with whatever crap he's got planned. All he wants is the formula for the pills to prevent cellular degeneration.

And are they really trying to make us think this Gwen is the real one? It's never the real one.

Jim Cheung art deserves a better comic.

About Clone Conspiracy, I will say what I already posted in the Spider-Man Discussion Forum

That is a Dr. Octopus story! That is not a Peter Parker story! Don't create expectation, wait for the worse. Otto will, he will be the focus, the center of the spotlight. Peter will be a extra in his own comic book as he was in Spider-Verse, he will be showed as inept, immature and pathetic, just to elevate Octopus. Why? Because Slott likes Otto as his own child and despise Peter, he loves to write Otto and can't give a crap about Peter. Anyone that have been reading ASM before Superior can see that.

Dr. Octopus should really stop gloating too much. That's how he always get his 8-tentacled butt kicked.

Gwenpool isn't Gwen Stacey. She is a character literally named Gwen Poole. The ONLY relation she has to Gwen Stacey is that she was originally part of a variant cover where Marvel had various variants with Gwen Stacey as the lead character. For example they also had Gwenom, Gwoot, G.W.E.N.D.O.K. and even a "Brian Michael Gwendis" cover.

This new Ock isn't that same guy.

Please turn DrOck back into THE Superior SpOck
