Why can this book not find a consistent art team?

Not a fan of this art at all. Especially the funky shading on everyone's noses.

After you said this, I noticed it too.

Other than that, this looks good.

That's not Wolverine. That's a teenage girl with a similar power-set, but nothing about that character is "Wolverine".

Logan, and the Wolverine "ethos" is an older, gruff, rough n tough, silent type, Clint Eastwood-esque, mentor like bad@ss.

I repeat, this ain't Wolverine.

Wolverine is whatever Marvel says it is, because last I checked, their name was on the trademark, not yours.

What a silly little defensive comment that had absolutely nothing to do with what I was intimating.

I can't draw any better than this artist. But it doesn't mean I have to pay $4 for it. The art sucks.

Out of all the "passing of the mantles/shared mantles" that have recently occurred this one makes the most sense,but damn I wish they'd tweak her costume to give her a unique look. I mean Jane-Thor,Sam-Cap,Ms.marvel all her their own design.

Also,Anyone been keeping up with this book?I read about 5-6 issues,but I kinda of stepped back on some Marvel titles once I saw Civil War II started spilling into things. Just want to see if anyone thinks it's still worth reading.

Absolutely. Best book in the X-line right now.

And she may be getting a costume tweak with ResurreXtion. Adam Kubert is working on SOMETHING with Laura on it, and while there's no details what it's for, it's definitely not her current costume:

See it here.

The problem is the only book we know she'll be appearing in when ResurreXtion begins so far is her solo. For some reason Marvel decided to use Old Man Logan in two team books (Gold and Weapon X) instead of splitting them as was done with EXM/ANXM so there's a lot of guessing as to what this is for. The only other (known) new X-Book we've not heard cast and creative team information for yet is Cable, and Kubert ALSO posted WIP pics of him (and like Laura, Cable isn't wearing his current costume from Uncanny Avengers).

It would be odd to see Laura as part of Cable's supporting cast considering they only ever interacted during the Messiah Trilogy, so either Marvel is shaking things up, or there could be other books coming that weren't part of the original announcement a couple weeks ago. Or perhaps she's joining Uncanny Avengers after Enemy of the State.

She's talking about Gabby hiding her own claws and healing factor.

@super_soldierxii:

You reading Old Man Logan? It's great.

I am actually. And I'm liking it. The alternate reality version of an old Wolverine is a good read, but it's not replacing a desire to see the good ole 616 Logan back in action.

I still have an issue with one thing though, as it's highly inconsistent, with the healing factor, how the heck did 50 years age him so much?

@super_soldierxii:

In Old Man Logan they mentioned that there were less than ten mutants still alive. It could be tied to that.

Maybe. I do wish they'd address it though. It needs to be clarified.

@super_soldierxii:

It's still a good series nonetheless though.

It is.

The problem I have with Laura, is she puts the onus on "Feral". Which pushes the tired suggestion that feral is the primary proponent to being "Wolverine".

She's feral and vicious, sure, but all the bad writers on Wolverine over the years were the ones who put emphasis on Logan's "feral nature". Calling Laura "Wolverine" just feels like another way to do just that all over again.

The good writers addressed Logan's Bushido code, his stringent sense of honor and responsibility, none of which Laura had ever developed or experienced. They highlighted his martial nature and how a man of extreme violence could still evidence the greatest compassion and sense of what is right. I don't feel the same struggle with Laura at all.

I still feel that Claremont got Wolverine down the best from Uncanny X-Men 130 (from his classic phrase "You took your best shot, now it's my turn") through to Uncanny # 300, to his mini series in 1982 and the first few issues of his ongoing ...

But yeah, OML is not bad.
