Cardiac and The Avengers Heading to SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN

Someone pinch me because I think I'm dreaming. Cardiac, an obscure character who happens to be my favorite anti-hero (seriously, it's an unhealthy obsession), is coming back to the 616 universe! Marvel released a sneak peek and the cover of SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #8, and it goes without saying that I'm insanely stoked. In the event you don't care or know about Cardiac (we're so not friends until you change that), you'll be happy to know the issue will focus on Superior Otto-Man's conflict with The Avengers.

Things aren't looking up for the fake wall-crawler. First Cardiac stretches out his costume, then he gets a super powered beatdown from Marvel's A-list team.

So, am I the only one out there who's ridiculously pumped for this one or are there other any other fans of Elias Wirtham out there? If so, what's your favorite scene with the anti-hero?

Nice to see Spock getting whooped. The run's been great so far. Much better than I anticipated and I'm certainly looking forward to this arc.

Isnt cardiac some kinda giant robot heart from DC? Or was it just something made for the Teen Titans toon

@k4tzm4n: All I know is he didn't make it into Spider-man: The Animated Series. Even Rocket Racer was in it.

WOW!!!! Cardiac goes back to when Jim Larsen was drawing Spidey right after Todd McFarlane. He was always more of an anti-hero then a villain. I really liked the character but it seemed like he just never got big. He was a cool character. He had a cool look. He was tough. Had a good power. Ramos kills it in this illustration. I hope he takes off.

Don't know much about Cardiac but I just finished reading #6 last night and I'm a huge fan of this run so far. It's definitely making its way to the top of the pile each month. My only complaint would be the art which I'm not a huge fan of....but that's a personal choice I suppose.

Now I have to go to my comic shop and find everything with cardiac....thanks. Guys. XD

Caaarrrrrdddiiaacc!!! I love this guy I used to read the Spidey comics with him over an over again! His costume is badass!! Hope they use him a lot!

I'm really sad to say this, but I'm really bored with spider-man now. And he is my all-time favorite superhero. I'm just sick of spock to be honest. I'm ready for this to be over. Bring back Peter and let's move on to something fun again.Unrelated I know, but I just finished SSM6 and needed to vent.

Haha #6 was so brutal lol. The part where he was able to see everything via is spidey bots was badass. Reminded me about The Dark Knight, when Bruce did the same thing with cell phones and Lucious was complaining about it. And When Spidey-Ock was telling Massacre that he will never change, that he will always be a murderer, I kind of thougt that Ock was talking about himself to. Maybe he will turn evil again. I thought that could be a hint.

I love cardiac! I miss some of the old 90's spidey villains. I hope Styx and Stone come back too

Have to say I think Ramos art style really fits the whole Ghost Peter thing.

He's been in less than 50 issues, so you're definitely not alone in that one.

didnt start reading spider-man until the other so never heard of this guy. been liking superior spider-man except for the whole annoying spider ghost. take that out and the book would be top notch

YES!!! CARDIAC RULES!!! I'm so excited it feels like I may go into CARDIAC arrest! Ba dum bum. yea he's awesome...

I really hope this isn't an indication that they'll be rushing to finish off Superior Spidey's arc. Personally I want this run to go on as long as possible but it seems like the number of people wising up to Doc Ock is getting out of hand.

@k4tzm4n My favorite arc with Cardiac involved is Maximum Carnage. I am nowhere near the fan of Eli that you are (obviously), but I always thought he was underused, as he has a lot of potential, IMO.

Cardiac is my guilty pleasure of comic book characters, i love that dude so much!

I really like Cardiac, but his appearances make me a little sad, because Larsen has said that Cardiac is a character he wishes he hadn't given up to Marvel.

Always liked Cardiac. I have said Prowler and Cardiac are the two most overlooked Spiderman characters and ripe for some good storytelling.

50 issues huh? Poor guy not getting enough of the spotlight it would seem.

Cardiac is cool and all, but...

Everyone dog-piling on Spider-man is what makes me happy here!
