Doesn't really matter. If Zuko can output enough heat to liquify the fat in Captain America's body, then Cap is screwed, if he doesn't (which is entirely possible) then Cap is going to overwhelm him in a melee confrontation.

That being said, Zuko can still dehydrate, burn, sear, char and easily take Cap down if he can keep distance, with or without his swords. The name of this game is avoidance, and he's a lot more skilled than Batroc was. Which is really pushing Zuko for me.

Cap can definitely win this, but the smart money is on Zuko.

I've never seen firebenders do anything like that

@arcus: Once Zuko resorts to using fire attacks Steve is done for.

@arcus: It doesn't change the fact that they can. They've burned down ships, with ease, and that requires a lot more temperature than liquefying fat.

Zuko 7/10. He's got speed, agility and fire power enough that any Cap win is a lot more up hill then a Zuko win.

@arcus: Yeah, and real life physics says Captain America (who's based in a reality far closer to ours) has body fat and muscle that will melt when heated at the same temperatures that cause wood to spontaneously explode.

@arcus: Yes, and smoke/boiling points obey real life physics. You can't use the argument "Firebending fire only produces enough heat to instantaneously steam water and explode wood, not a lesser amount of heat to do something far less impressive." It's not my fault the writers don't use logic in their universe, but it doesn't change the fact of what happened canonically.

Is someone using real science in a fictional fight? :/

I'm going with Cap on this one. IIRC Avatar characters barely get burned when fighting against fire and didn't Cap take on flamethrowers in "The First Avenger" and survived an explosion (with the help of his shield) in "The Winter Soldier"? Not to mention a (albeit small) healing factor? I don't see why fire should do him in and I'd say that Cap has the advantage in terms of physicals.

The science of Avatar is complete horsepoop. Honestly it's just dumb to bring it up. How are these watebenders freezing people and not killing them?

Yeah, if you really think about it, it doesn't make sense. I mean, have you ever wondered how earthbenders bring up rocks and stuff from the ground without leaving a mark or a hole in the ground?

@arcus: By feats he's at least at Cap. And even if not above his fighting style involves a lot more movement then Cap without getting close enough for Cap to exploit.

@arcus: Any decent earth bender would be creating massive mini earthquakes. They would end up burying themselves and any teammates near by in ruble. If we play the science game...

i'd go Zuko, MCU caps shield is mainly good against small caliber things, bullets, for example. So if Zuko decides to cook him, Zuko will probably end up cooking him.

That being said, if cap can close the distance fast enough he definitely wins, I just don't think he will

MCU Cap's shield doesn't have feats of blocking attacks that cover his whole body and isn't insulated as far as we know so Zuko wins.

Specially being blind sided by the shields wonky physics. Zuko cannot be caught off guard or he's done.

Cap Wins, he has superior: Intelligence, Skill, and is a better tactician. And since Cap is Superhuman in everything about the human body(and has a healing factor).

Cap for the majority. Faster, more skilled, and probably durable enough to tank a hit or two.
