The Endless vs Thanos (Infinity Gauntlet)

I'm trying to gauge the power levels here.
 
Morals: Standard
Standard equipment
No prep
Location: Middle of space.
 

Despite the gauntlet, I will say the Endless...quite easily since they cant die unless Death allows it. 
Speaking of Death, Thanos wouldn't harm her ( the big softie) :)

Thanos wins, man he was in complete control with that massive power, i dont see the endless winning.

This battle is dumb. The Endless represent concepts in the DC universe, but dont exist beyond that multiiverse. So its doubtful they could exist outside there own multiverse, and definitily not with their full power.

The Infinity Gauntlet only works in Marvel universe (as seen when Darkseid discarded it after he realised it wouldn't work ).

So if one group were to crossover to the others universe they would both be put at an extreme disadvantage.

@Sherlock: No, meant that Superman for example is only on earth-DC with no true 'copy' of him on earth-marvel, things like the Endless transcend these inter-dimensional borders. They appear different in each setting but are the same being. Like Marvel's Death is the more traditional Grim Reaper sort while Death of the Endless appears like a young woman, but are the same being.

It is hard to make sense of this fight. The Endless are more like anthropomorphic representations of the fundamental understructure of existence, especially sentient existence. Thanos would either have no power over them or could only hurt himself by messing with them as they are the substance of his own existence as a sentient being.

1. Time Gem: The Endless are beyond time, no effect.
2. Space Gem: The Endless are omnipresent, no effect.
3. Mind Gem: In the Illuminati, it was revealed that the Mind Gem was the personification of the universal subconscious. Therefore, Mind Gem = Dream...stalemate.
4. Soul Gem: When Lucifer closed Hell it irritated Death that she had to run around chasing down all the wayward souls that escaped, but that's about it. The Endless aren't mortal beings with souls, no effect.
5. Reality Gem: The Endless are fundamental to any reality that Thanos could create that includes his continued existence as a sentient being wielding the Gauntlet and the Gems themselves cannot be willed out of existence. So long as he lives, there will be Death. So long as he acts, it will cause Destruction of the status quo. So long as he imagines and thinks, he will depend on Dream and Desire. If he wishes to think new thoughts and have novel experiences, Delirium (formerly Delight) will exist. As long as there is existence, it's opposite is nothingness and Despair. Absolutely everything that will happen is written in Destiny's book...that's why even Lucifer Morningstar has no power over Destiny.
6. Power Gem: I think this Gem protects Thanos from any attack by Endless just as he was unharmed by the Cosmics in Infinity Gauntlet. He has as much power as he needs to counter any of their attempts to manipulate him and has equal control over every force in existence as them.

The only advantage the Endless have is their experience. I think it's possible that by very subtle manipulations of his thoughts and desires they might get him to take off the Gauntlet of his own accord. Otherwise it would be a stalemate.

Thanos would destroy Death? You understand that one of the Endless is Destruction and that Death would be the one showing up to take herself into Death? Death will exist until the end of existence as stated in Sandman and it was revealed in Illuminati that the Infinity Gauntlet can't unmake itself.

thanos has already defeated all abtracts, to even say endless win is like saying they can defeat ETERNITY INFINITY CHAOS ORDER and DEATH!!!

Though if I'm honest if any of the Endless were taking on Thanos by them selfs then Thanos would most likely win though all of the Endless are working togeather they might be able to beat Thanos, not saying it would be a curbstomp or that it will be easy but still.

the soul Gem was enough to entirely ignore the suggestions of Love and Hate, so the IG should be enough to resist

anyways, I'd place the Endless on level with people like Eternity; who Thanos beat fairly easily

@betatesthighlander1: The Endless are subtler concepts than what I usually see portrayed with the Marvel Abstract/Cosmic characters. That might just be the difference between the level of writing or intended audience between the more literary Neil Gaiman and the more action oriented Marvel writers. I think Thanos would not be able to destroy any of the Endless without fundamentally altering his own existence whereas the Endless would have the wisdom and patience to slowly undermine his character. Maybe Thanos could assume their responsibilities and thus eliminate them.

anyways, the problem I see is that the Endless aren't going to be able to hide from Thanos very well, so I don't really see them getting the time to uyndermine Thanos

The Endless can "die". When they do...they are replaced with a new incarnation of themselves. These deaths don't seem to have much affect on the universe, since the role is immediately filled with a new Aspect.

What kind of omniscience does the IG confer? Does Thanos really know everything or can he just know anything he wants? The Endless are very high level Cosmic/Abstract beings. They might know tricks that Thanos, new to higher level consciousness, doesn't even know to ask about.

I agree with you except Lucifer seem to imply he can/could kill dream and Dream himself backed it up so they can die if a higher power kills them. Well except death i guess

@primebonnick: actually, in DC it is not so simple. lucifer can manipulate literally anything, so all he has to do is manipulate the concepts into something else. anyway, the guy we are talking about can just easily call his brother Michael to one-shot creation.
