You REALLY don't like Thanos do you.

Most of them will do nothing here, I can pick three or four that really makes a difference in that fight, but I don't think that's enough, Thanos stomped the Annihilators recently, so he will murder the team most of the time. I should note that if you gave prep for the team only, many of those could solo him.

The only real factors here, are the Silver Surfer, Thor, Iceman and Hulk, and as of now, Norrin vs Thanos might be a slightly different story.

Numbers do not make them a greater threat, half of them die as soon as the fight starts.........

I'd definitely have to go with team. Thanos is good but even he has his limits when fighting multiple beings near his level physically along with all the other beings who can assault him from range and telepathically at the same time. Its too much even for him if the team works together. Magneto within Avengers tower could also be a major thorn in Thanos' side.

@maninthemountain: I think it could prob be written either way. I don't see it as being decisive one way or the other given how many different forms of attack the team has.

Thanos destroys the Avengers tower with his fat purple ass, killing everyone in the process.

Thanos loses imo, his already lost to many of the heroes listed more than once, but assuming Thanos gets to deal with his opponents in more duelling fashion... It would probably go to Thanos fairly easily in most cases. Thanos is tough but not tough enough to take them all if they gang him at the same time.

Not sure how people consider the GotG, who defeated Thanos before, less useful than someone like Panther or Cyclops considering Rocky carries more firepower on him standard than they do.

Anyway, Thanos wins. With prep it boils down to Thor, Hulk, Groot, Drax, Surfer, and if this is Richard Rider than Nova as well (if it's Sam he dies fast). Thanos could definitely beat that group.

@granitesoldier: I get what you mean about Drax, but the team doesn't have any prep going into this. Thanos has slapped Drax around effortlessly numerous times, the only time I can think of Drax "winning" was when Thanos had his guard lowered and Drax surprised him with an anti-matter bomb to his chest. Without prep, the Guardians are largely a much weaker version of the Avengers and I don't think they offer much against someone like Thanos.

The reason I think Black Panther and Cyclops could last as long as them is that they aren't just physical. I think they would take a tactical approach against Thanos (they fight smart), and they have an offensive cache large enough to last a few minutes.

@kokemabb200: Current GotG are weaker than Avengers. Classic is debatable. Classic Drax is also far more powerful than current, even though there's no retcon so it's all still canon for him.

Regardless, I know there isn't prep. So that's why Thanos wins. Hell even with prep it's debatable.

and Rocky is better technologically and tactically than both Panther and Cyke. He designed and created the GotGs combat suits, builds weapons on a moonstone level from scrap, and has a plethora of weapons on hand. He's at the very least on par. Granted, current Rock isn't nearly as capable. So there's that I guess.

@granitesoldier: I haven't read a Guardians comic since the "War of Kings" story arc so I'm probably underestimating Rocket as I'm not 100% up to date on what he's capable of. I've wanted to get back into them but I'm not sure if they're any good.

I used to love the space adventures, especially those involving Richard Rider, but when he got lost in the Cancerverse I lost interest in them.

Oh holy crap. I'd say either Stalemate or Thanos after an incredibly hard fight. Thanos will have to resort to fighting his very hardest though, especially due to the combined might of the team. If Thanos is on his A game, then this is how I see it.

Star-Lord: Little to no trouble

Hulk: Immense difficulty. Will be one of the last ones standing

Thor: Immense difficulty. Will be one of the last ones standing.

The thing: Will put up a good effort, and will lose halfway through the battle.

Mr fantastic: with prep he would solo. Without prep, he dies.

Invisible woman: She is one of the more dangerous enemies, but will die halfway through the battle due to lack of durability.

Iron man: will present difficulty, but will die fairly fast.

The human touch: will die fairly fast.

Captain America: Will die fairly fast.

Silver surfer: He is probably the most dangerous one on the team. He will be one of the last to fall.

Daredevil: will die instantly.

Black panther: will last a little while due to armor, but will die halfway through the battle.

Hawkeye: will die very fast.

Drax the destroyer: Depending on which one, he will last towards the end of the halfway point.

Groot: will last till near the end due to his size alteration. But will not last as long as Drax.

Rocket raccoon: Will die instantly.

Nova: Will last about halfway through.

Gamora: her fighting skills will allow her to last halfway through.

Wolverine: he will last a little longer than Drax and Groot due to his regeneration.

Charles xaiver: is one of the most dangerous enemies here, but will die fast due to little durability.

Magneto: will last about as long as the Hulk due to being in the Avengers tower.

Cyclops: will last a little while before dying.

Ice man: will be a serious threat and will last less time than Magneto.

Colossus: will last a little bit past the halfway point.

If this team is coordinated, than Thanos loses. However, if he randomly shows up deciding to take all of them on and not leave till they're all dead, he MIGHT be able to pull this off. To be honest, this team could probably take down a hungry Galactus because of their hax. The only reason Thanos last longer than a starving Galactus is because he's more of a trained fighter than Galactus is.

Sweet Baby Moses. I'm gonna ignore Ice Man and Sue because their powers annoy me.

There are a lot of non-factors, but I think Norrin, Thor, Hulk, Drax...(maybe even Magneto and Groot) give the team a solid W.

This is of course unless Thanos uses his shields and then hits them with the same cosmic blasts he did to make Galan stumble. Then they all die.

Most of this team is fodder/non-factors.

Taking out the fodder out of the equation (albeit some fodder is more relevant and less fodder than some of the other fodder), this is what the team looks like.

Surfer has failed fantastically every time he has fought against Thanos.

Even when he blasted Thanos with every intent of destroying him, he couldn't even make him flinch.

Whereas Thanos has had no problem clobbering Surfer to the brink of death.

I don't see Surfer doing squat here.

Thanos has already manhandled Thor, and we saw him fight Hulk recently in Infinity Finale.

I'm having trouble seeing as to what these guys can do to him.

From what I understand, the version of Iceman you're thinking of who was omnipresent in every molecule of water on Earth was amped.

And even then, if we're using that version, Thanos isn't going to do much. I think at some point he'll realize blasts and hits aren't going to put him down, so he'll use telepathy.

Thanos got this, more than half of the team is fodder.
