Radical. Can't wait.

Also, are novel feats allowed too, for Big Boss? It's nothing major, just more in depth telling of the games.

@beaconofstrength: I only listen to Jimmy. Are you jimmy?

You listen to the Jimmy but do you hear the Jimmy?

I may have gone way to obscure with that one...

Yes, it works fine.

Indeed.

No, we're here, he's just been waiting for me to go and I had things to do.

Batman

No Caption Provided

Physicals:

The Dark Knight is known for being the top peak human out there. However, he has some feats and stats of the superhuman caliber.

Strength:

1. Tears out a metal duct.

2. The classic. He strikes through a brick, and then kicks through a tree.

3-4. A little PIS admittedly, but he hurls someone through a door meant to withstand a missile.

5. Tears prison bars.

6. Punches through a car roof.

7. Easily breaks Mr. Freeze's bulletproof helmet.

8. Kicks through a motorcycle.

9. Breaks a neck of a leopard "trained to kill".

10. Again, a bit PIS, but while fatigued and poisoned, he cracks bazooka proof glass.

11. Breaks a steel sword with a kick.

12. Breaks a gun in half.

Speed:

There are plenty more of these, but I just need a few to begin with.

Durability:

Stealth:

I am understandably going to just let you cycle through this. This should prove without a doubt, that Batman is the stealthier of the two.

Skill:

As skilled as he is, Big Boss' skill simply doesn't match Batman's.

Since this is just an opener, I won't give specific examples, but I'll let you look through this.

Why Batman Wins:

  • Batman has comparable physicals to Snake.
  • Batman can tank a lot of what Big Boss can throw out, spare his fork.
  • Batman is stealthier.
  • Batman is more skilled in CQC.

Sorry for the long wait and such a short post :/

@frisky4:

Alright, sorry for the long wait, but I'm finally back. Let's get this train rolling

Jack; Naked Snake; the Legendary Soldier; Big Boss.

No Caption Provided

Physicals:

While Batman has impressive physicals, Big Boss is a physical behemoth.

Strength/Striking:

No Caption Provided

Snake manhandles and flips a member of the Ocelot Unit: an elite unit within the GRU.

No Caption Provided

Big Boss punches a man all the way across a room.

No Caption Provided

Big Boss is able to throw a guard so hard, that he's able to knock out another guard, just by the impact of the first guard.

Now, none of those feats aren't too impressive, but let's get on to one of Big Boss' best:

Loading Video...

Here Big Boss has Volgin on the ground, half dead, after a brutal fistfight: A weakened Volgin has been able to tank multiple hits from RPGs, getting set on fire, having numerous bullets explode on him, and getting hit by a lightning bolt, yet Big Boss had Volgin at his best, coughing up blood. This feat alone shows how tremendous Big Boss' striking power is.

Speed/Stamina:

Despite it not being apparent, Big Boss is ridiculously fast and still remains (in my opinion) the second fastest non-enhanced human in Metal Gear (right behind Jetstream Sam). His speed rivals the likes of people like Cassandra Cain.

No Caption Provided

Dodges Ocelot's gunfire from behind, without Boss looking at Ocelot. An impressive feat in terms of speed, and an amazing feat showing off his senses and awareness.

Loading Video...

During this cut scene QTE, Big Boss literally blitzes a group of guards before any of them can even pull the trigger, and was moving so fast to the point where Strangelove didn't even realize Big Boss took out the guards, until he stood still; Big Boss was literally moving so fast that Strangelove couldn't even perceive him, even though she was looking directly at him. Immedietly after, Big Boss snatched the card right out Strangelove's hand before she could even react.

Boss moving to the AI pod.
Boss moving to the AI pod.

In this scene, we see Big Boss quickly cover the distance to an A.I pod. It took him nearly 3 seconds to cover the distance, according to the scene, and was only seen/heard making a couple of footsteps, according to the audio.

Swoosh.
Swoosh.

Big Boss literally outruns gunfire in order to save Amanda; none of the bullets touched either of them.

Frank blitzing soldiers, while dodging their gunfire.

Null showing off his speed by blocking barrages of Boss' gunfire.
Null showing off his speed by blocking barrages of Boss' gunfire.

Big Boss has also fought on even grounds with Frank Jager also known as Null (Grey Fox). Frank during Peace Walker was a heavily skilled soldier, who entered the successor program and was given the nickname the "perfect soldier". Null was able to casually deflect barrages gunfire, blitzed countless skilled soldiers, and was able to maneuver around gunfire being fired at him. Big Boss matched Null easily in speed and was constantly able to dodge and attack Null. He stalemated Null on his first try and beat him with little effort on his second.

Now Big Boss' most impressive speed feat: Fighting and beating Gene. Who is Gene? Gene is a hypersonic soldier equipped with precog, ESP, and emotion manipulation/hypnosis. Gene has moved so fast that he appeared to be standing still and it looked like bullets were phasing through him. Gene was also fast enough to completely blitz and fodderize Null, before he knew what happened.

Loading Video...
Loading Video...

Yet despite all odds, Big Boss beat Gene in a CQC battle (in canon). Even though Gene was one of the, if not the faster man in Metal Gear Solid, Big Boss was able to keep up and beat him in a CQC situation.

Durability/Resistance:

Now, this is where Big Boss is king; he is colossal when it comes to tanking damage. He's definitely the most durable human in Metal Gear and has the feats to back it up. His absurd durability rivals that of other meta humans. Boss has been shown to endure tremendous amounts of pain, to the point where it's a bit ridiculous what he's shown to be able to tank.

Loading Video...

Big Boss jumps from a height so vast that he doesn't land for nearly 10 seconds, and sustains no injuries from the fall. That's over a 2000 foot drop.

Loading Video...

Here Big Boss gets shot by a tank, gets back up, and shows no indication of injury.

Loading Video...
Loading Video...

And in these clips, we see an already weakened Big Boss endure getting hit by Volgin about 30 times, before he finally goes down, then proceeds to undergo Volgin's torture; Volgin was a sadist who is known to constantly kill his prisoners before extracting any information at all; on top of that, Volgin had a reason to let loose on Big Boss, because he killed Volgin's boyfriend. Also note that Big Boss had his eye shot out and was shot in the leg, immediately after the torture session. Ocelot even commends Big Boss for merely surviving Volgin's torture.

Now why is Big Boss getting beat up by a guy so impressive, one might say, so lets have a quick sneak peak on how hard Volgin hits:

Volgin's body possessed a physical anomaly that allowed him to generate 10 million volts of electricity at will, and was shown to easily be able to punch through concrete walls and the Shagohod. The Shagohod was a hybrid screw propelled tank that was able to easily withstand an entire building exploding and getting hit by multiple RPGs, yet Volgin was able to tear through its armor with a single punch.

Boss further commenting on the durability of the Shagohod.

Volgin punching through the Shagohod.
Volgin punching through the Shagohod.

And just for further reference, Volgin's bullet-brass knuckles bared no physical advantage.

I'm holding back on the rest of Big Boss' durability feats, for now. You'll be seeing them later.

Stealth and Skill(s):

Now, your definition of skill is extremely broad; It's obvious you're only taking into account hand-to-hand skill, as the only skill, while you're overlooking other skills. While Batman may have the advantage in pure hand-to-hand skill, Big Boss has skill advantages in different areas.

Stealth:

Now while Batman may have more impressive stealth feats when it comes to hiding from people with enhanced senses, but Big Boss' sneaking feats are usually a lot different from Batman's, not worse. Big Boss engages every fight with stealth, it's his bread and butter.

Loading Video...

(I'm not gonna pretend I didn't steal this part from @nickzambuto, because he summed the part about The End perfectly; I couldn't put this in better words):

The End was an ancient sniper, a member of the Cobra Unit who brought the allies to victory during World War II. The End is credited with basically creating sniping and all of the modern techniques we associate with it today. His superhuman skill is amplified by his supernatural abilities; despite being over 100 years old he was a physical match for Snake, and he had a spiritual connection to the forest itself. He could "talk" to the forest, as in he constantly knew exactly what was happening in every corner of the whole area. Additionally he could perform photosynthesis on himself so that he never ran out of stamina, moderate his own body temperature to avoid thermal imaging, and his special Moss Camo blended in perfectly with the environment and made him nearly invisible. And to top it all off he used his parrot as a spotter while Snake himself was alone.

Despite no experience at all sniping in forested environments, Snake took The End on in his own game and won. He proved himself a better sniper, and he somehow managed to track The End down through the jungle and snuck up right behind his back without being detected. This means that Snake is so stealthy, the environment itself doesn't know where he is, he becomes completely indistinguishable. When Snake holds The End up, he even jumps in surprise and asks "How did you...?"

(all credit goes to Nickzambuto for this part about The End)

Loading Video...

Here we see Snake hide from Ursula & Gene: 2 extremely powerful and skilled precogs. Ursula's precog is so powerful that she was able to correctly predict and foresee the entire plot of Metal Gear; Gene's precog was powerful enough to predict and foresee a building fall down, before it actually happened (This happened at 6:50 in the first video). On top of that Boss was sneaky enough to sneak behind Gene and literally put a gun behind his head, without him noticing. Yes, Big Boss can literally hide from precogs; this is just a testament to how stealthy Big Boss is.

Aim:

Big Boss is one of the most talented marksman in the Metal Gear universe, with his vast knowledge on all weapons and firearms. Big Boss constantly proves and outplays gun adepts, like Sigint; Sigint was brought onto Operation Snake Eater in order to provide Big Boss with information on firearms and other various technology, but has ended up learning something new from Snake in almost every conversation. Snake is one of, if not the biggest experts in all forms of firearms, within his universe.

Now it terms of feats, Big Boss has plenty:

Loading Video...

Here we see Big Boss easily take down 2 cypher drones from a long distance away, with an RPG. Keep in mind the cyphers were no bigger than a toddler and were constantly zooming around. This feat gets even more impressive considering there was nearly a 3000 feat distance between Big Boss and the drones. And he did that with an RPG, a largely inaccurate weapon.

Loading Video...

In this clip, Big Boss is fast and skilled enough to get up, aim, and fire his RPG at some falling debris to save Ocelot. Nothing too impressive, but still a good feat showing off his speed and marksmanship.

Loading Video...

Now here, we see Big Boss easily dispatch a helicopter with a few well placed shots.

Loading Video...

The Fear showing off his speed.
The Fear showing off his speed.

Big Boss has also been able to shoot people with superhuman speed, such as The Fear, who was fast enough to run across water, who had agility comparable to Spider-Man and had the ability to make his entire body partially invisible. Yet Big Boss was still able to shoot down and beat The Fear, even though he was poisoned and constantly being attacked.

While Big Boss is no Deadshot, he's still a superb marksmen.

Hand-to-Hand:

Admittedly, Big Boss is lacking in the hand-to-hand department, because he generally doesn't fight purely in hand-to-hand combat; CQC is Big Boss' main isle. Regardless, Big Boss still has some good H2H feats.

Loading Video...

Here, Snake beats Volgin a fistfight; the same guy who punched through concrete walls, punched through the Shagohod, and the who has been able to tank bullets exploding in his face, RPGs, and bolts of lighting (arguably a building busting explosion, too, but only speculation); Volgin wasn't the fastest guy, but was able to completely blitz EVA before she was able to react. Volgin was also the best boxer in the GRU with overwhelming stats, yet Snake had him coughing up blood after a brutal fist fight. This is just one example of how skilled Snake is and how hard he hits.

Loading Video...

Here Big Boss completely disarms and humiliates Snake in a H2H situation, even though Snake was completely on guard.

Here's a quick overview on Solid Snake's skills, to show how impressive this feat is:

Lets pull out some and highlight some key points about Solid Snake:

  • Snake is stated as a black belt in 32 forms of oriental martial arts.
  • Stated a Martial arts expert.
  • Stated as a master of CQC; a form of close quarters combat that is superior to all forms of combat, in any combat situation.
  • Expert in all forms of Special Forces, and CIA training.
  • Had an IQ of a 160 in his rookie years, and an IQ of 180 in his prime.

Loading Video...

Here, a holding back Big Boss stalemates Ocelot in hand-to-hand combat. Ocelot is the man who mastered CQC, just by simply watching Big Boss preform it. Ocelot was high ranking in the KGB, GRU, and CIA. Ocelot has been able to stomp Raiden & Snake easily in a pure CQC/H2H situation He's easily the second most skilled man in Metal Gear:

Loading Video...

^Ocelot stomping Raiden^

Loading Video...

^Ocelot stomping Snake, in the time it took to for a cigar to hit the ground^

CQC:

Now, this is Big Boss' preferred fighting style.

CQC (Close Quarters Combat) is a system of combined combat techniques which allow rapid alternation between armed and hand-to-hand combat while engaging enemy personnel. It was developed together by The Boss & Big Boss. By the end of the series Big Boss still remains the #1 specialist in the world, exceeding everyone, even his co-developer, The Boss.

Loading Video...

Beats the Boss, the co-founder of CQC, in a CQC match. Peace Walker also confirms their match being a CQC match.

Loading Video...

Big Boss beats Null in a CQC situation. While it's not blatant, Big Boss beats Null in CQC, considering by the end of the fight Big Boss was in a CQC pose, and Null had no major visable wounds. Big Boss also wasn't able to tag Null with bullets, which further reinforces my point.

Loading Video...

Big Boss also beat Gene himself in a CQC match, since Gene also had his own form of "destructive" CQC, wanted to test his skills with Big Boss, was faster than Null (which makes Big Boss using bullets to hit Gene highly unlikely, and was shown with no visible bullet wounds at the end of the fight.

In Conclusion:

  • Big Boss is sporting better physicals than Batman.
  • Big Boss has many different skills that allow him to easily contend with Batman's hand-to hand skills.
  • Big Boss is sporting more skills.
  • Batman is NOT more skilled in CQC; hand-to-hand, yes, but definitely not in CQC: Big Boss' main fighting style.
  • Boss is just as skilled at stealth, in his own manor; they both have different types of stealth feats.
  • Big Boss is Big Boss.

Your move.

Sorry for the extremely long wait for this reply; I've had a few roadblocks the last couple of weeks.

He's no Solid Snake but I guess Big Boss is a pretty okay guy.
