Sasuke vs Gambit

In my opinion:
It wont matter how fast Gambit is, Sasuke is as fast/ or faster as Rock Lee (Who causes tornados just by running) Gambit will never reach that speed no matter how much he tries
Sasuke was strong enough to defeat Orochimaru on his own one of the legendary Sanin
Another factor is the Sharingan which allows Sasuke to see the moves of the opponents perfectly and has fame of even knowing what the oponent is up to before the opponent finishes its move.
Gambit is a great threat but only against those who can't match his speed and agility, Sasuke can
Also Sasuke's control of the chidori at that time was already superb, hence the nerve of hunting Hitachi
