Sentry is like Superman... but he isnt as strong as Superman physically... and though I do agree with Power Girl getting beat up quite a bit... you have to think of the competition she has gone up against... Supergirl, Black Adam, Despero... these arent just walk in the park type characters that Sentry cold run through himself...
Joking aside, I am not an expert on either of them. I am a fan though of both so it is hard to say. I know Vance will help with the Sentry part when he gets around to it, but I wonder if there is a Power Girl expert around here.

Although her powers are not at the same level as Supergirl's, she is still massively strong, fast and durable - and that's on a DC universe level.
If its an all out Sentry, we should take into account he has all those crazy Void powers, plus his almost everyone in the planet forgets him level telepathy. It would be a fight I'd like to see in a cross over.
Powergirl can be drained of energy far quicker than Supes, Sentry can implant memories and Powergirl is weak against mental attacks, Sentry is a better combatant and more skilled fighter, Sentry could probably cheat and project a red sun energy field...Red Suns kill Kryptonites

power-girl is well of kryptonian ancestry so she gets stronger when hit by the rays of a yellow sun and well from what i know about the sentry is well he basically is a sun so therefore he will constantly be giving her power

I think, that You are not right. From marvel.database: "The Sentry can generate light, heat, force, and other forms of energy in the form of powerful blasts and explosions in a yellow color" It is only yellow color. Sentry has power of one million exploding suns, but I do not think that there must be a yellow suns. Even if he absorb power from sun, he still could transform it into other kind of energy (like hard-light constructs for example).
I would want PG to win,but sentry did go toe to toe with WWhulk ,so I'd have to go with sentry.(but he is crazier than cat shi*,so maybe she could just tell him he already lost the fight and he would just go away)
