batman used to be overrated but now he is underrated people want to say powers listings don't matter that it;s feats that matter but then they want to write off batman when he has taken down superman and martian manhunter level people.

cheetah is super overrated

DC overrated = Batman

Marvel overrated = Hulk

DC underrated = Animal Man

Marvel Underrated = Drax the Destroyer

Batman hasn't been overrated since people realized it was cool to underrate him.

Same with characters like Storm, Wolverine, Sentry, Hulk, Flash(okay maybe him a little bit), etc.

People love to be like "OMG Batman is soo overrated he's just human he's nowhere near prep lords like Dr. Doom, Mr. Fantastic, and even Tony Stark. The Batwanking needs to stop."

Now that a large majority of people think characters like him are overrated, they're officially underrated.

Batman is by far the most overrated. Do not even try to say he isn't.

I'm most familiar with Marvel, so...

Underrated:

1. Immortus (Basically a tech Skyfather. Quasar implied that the Anihilators were helpless against him.)
2. Uatu (featless, yes. But his implied power is tremendous.)
3. Kang The Conqueror (The biggest PiS jobber/ popularity contest loser in Marvel history.)
4.Thor (Everyone seems to cling to his lowest showings, and ignore his highest. If Thor had been knocked out by a street thug with a hammer like Silver Surfer, or mugged like Darkseid, the Vine would treat it as canon. I'm not saying Thor is unbeatable, but there is not a single Sub-Thanos level character who doesn't at least have a VERY difficult time with Thor.)
5. The Grandmaster (Sure, he's had some low-showings in recent years, but his high showings / implied power make up for it. Peak Grandmaster seemed to be on Odin level, as he was able to consign individuals, and even entire species to Oblivion.)

Overrated:

1. Dormammu (He usurped Eternity with as much PiS as Thanos w/ The Infinity Gauntlet, yet it often gets cited as a real feat. So many of his feats involve PiS and magic amps. Dormy is basically a Skyfather level character, not a top tier cosmic.)
2. Silver Surfer (Not the Trans level, teambusting, just shy of Skyfather character everyone makes him out to be. His powers have clear limits, defined by his inability to defeat certain characters.)
3. Wolverine (I don't even need to explain this one, do I?)
4. Anihilus (Aunt May could be a cosmic threat with the Cosmic Control Rod, and even with it, he was defeated by Nova. How is this guy a trans-level teambuster?)
5. Ultron (Certain Herald tier characters can solo him. Not worthy of the same breath as Thanos or Darkseid in team-buster conversations.)

Overrated- Storm, Superman, Captain America, Wolverine, Dr Doom, Bleach Characters.

Underrated- Wonder Woman, Nightwing, Martian Manhunter, Sentry, Cheetah, Ben 10 characters.

Batman used to be overrated, but now he's kinda underrated.

Overrated - Superman, Darkseid, Superman / Boy Prime

Underrated - Hulk, Despero, Ultron

Overrated:

Batman. Nobody comes even close. The patron saint of plot armor, the master of PIS, the living deus-ex-machina dispenser.

Wolverine. He is the second best at what he does, and what he does is being overrated. A top street leveler who for some reason is believed to be able to hang with and defeat top tier powerhouses.

Kratos (not a marvel/dc character, but good heavens, his fans will rip your head off for even daring to suggest he can't solo every marvel/DC skyfather character)

Deathstroke. A bit similar to batman, only to a much lesser degree.

Captain America. Similar to wolverine, but to a much lesser degree.

Hulk. Mistakenly believed infinite potential equals infinite power.

Bonus round: This is the recent development, but Rocket Raccoon and Groot are getting out of hand, mostly due to the upcoming movie.

Also, Blue Marvel.

Underrated:

Wonder Woman. Seeing most of the threads here, you'd think she is some sort of dumb mid-tier brick at best, or even an upper tier street leveler. No matter what her canon feats are, they are commonly getting ignored in favour of "wonder woman is weak" mantra.

Aquaman. Still plagued by the horrible reputation and damage Super Friends did to him, despite the general badassery. He deserves better.

Thing. Poor Ben gets very little respect even against street levelers.

Hercules. Powerful as Thor, but not that you'd think so seeing the forum battles.

She-Hulk. Similar to WW, but to a lesser degree.

Elektra. WW's and Shulkie's spiritual successor among street levelers.

Cyclops. Leader, tactician, devastating fighter. But who cares, he lacks ridiculous haircut and metal knives in his hands.

Superman. Good ol' Supes is definitely getting greately underrated and underappreciated around here.

In the whole Vine, Flash is the most overrated Character.

DC Overrated= Flash, Doomsday, Spectre and Captain atom

DC Underrated= Wonder Woman, Lobo, Mongul, and Green Arrow

Marvel Overrated= Hulk, Deadpool, Wolverine, and Juggernaut.

Marvel Underrated= SS, Magneto, Scarlet Witch, and Thor.

Overrated - dr doom (prep > TOAA), silver surfer, magneto, thanos, flash (though he got evidence), batman (sometimes)

Underrated - aquaman, apocalypse, females, lanterns, mongul, hercules, brainiac

Overrated- Thanos (Among Marvel fans, who vote for him to beat Abstract level DC characters.)
Underrated- Thanos (Among DC fans, who think he can't take heralds without prep.)

Idon't know guys cyclops seems pretty underrated too,while storm,captain america and wolverine are WAYYY overated

Underrated DC: Beast Boy... he can become any animal... even kryptonian ones, think about that for a power level.

Overrated Marvel: Deadpool, sure he's got a great healing factor but all his other stats are within human norms yet it seems people think his HF enables him to tank punches from people with super strength without being knocked out.

Underrated Marvel: Spider-man, People just don't seem to realize how powerful his blend of powers is, yes he's not the strongest, but is strength is underestimated, he hasn't been at the 10, 15, or even 25 ton level for a very long time as previous scans of him lifting a 40+ ton subway car over his head without much effort, holding up the Daily Bugle building easily 70 tons +, landing a 50~60 ton jet on his back, easily establishes him at the 40 ton level when calm. Significantly higher when angered or with the right motivation.

Then there's his speed and reflexes, 40 times normal human levels is nothing to sneeze at, thing is his sight also works on that factor, meaning bullets moving faster than the speed of sound appear to him to be moving at ~20 mph, the same would be said of speedsters at the same relative factor, and normal humans even peak ones would literally be moving in slow motion to him.

Another thing that's overlooked is his combat skill, when talking about the 616 Spider-man he's been fighting for years and even trained with shang chi to develop the Way of the Spider. To even think he's not a match for a human level martial artist especially when you factor in his spidersense is just ludicrous.

Main thing people forget is Spidey fights 95% of the time with morals on and pulls his punches so much that they are at just above normal human levels, against most foes, even superhuman ones unless he knows they are durable enough.

Underrated Wolverine, Spider-man & Hulk

Overrated 616 Cap, Deathstroke & Hulk.

When it comes to hulk it just depends who you're talking to.

overrated- Dr. Manhattan, Superman, Batman, Sentry, Silver Surfer, Flash, Wonder Woman (with her non-existant/not backed in any way by facts or evidence Skyfather cutting sword)

Underrated- Adam Warlock, Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, X-23, Tim Drake, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Barbara Gordon, Terry McGinnis, Luke Cage

Overrated: Batman, Storm, Wolverine, Hulk, Bloodlusted Cassandra Cain and Winter Soldier

Underrated: Nightwing, Gambit, Moon Knight, Captain America, Red Hood, Doomsday, Darkseid and White Canary

Martian Manhunter (Seriously underrated, even though he has way more powers then superman)

Darkseid ( He's true form the size of a universe and all his other showing are his Avatars and not actually him)

Impossible Man (not even Molecule man can control his molecules, and even Galacticus compared him to Phoenix Force)

Colossus (everyone forgets that he was the only to survive a Doom powered Beyonder when even Captain Americas shield got destroyed via the same attack)

Hulk is the most overrated character ever . I despise his green ass

Spider-man 2099 (Like Spider-man, but without all the whining and annoying character traits, better power set, and WAY cooler costume. Bonus points for Cyber Punk Dystopian Nueva York),

Darkseid (Like Thanos, but better, and more original)
