In this battle, movie Magneto will take on a team of metalbenders from the world of Avatar, who will win?

This is Magneto from the X-Men movies. Feats from his young and old self apply

Fight takes place in Zaofu. The metal domes are gone, meaning all metal is bendable for the metalbenders. Starting distance is 40 feet

Magneto is wearing metal, meaning Toph will be able to sense him even in the air

Victory by ko or death

Round 1: Magneto vs the Beifongs

For this round, the metalbending team consists of: Toph (young and old feats apply), Lin, Suyin, Wei and Wing Beifong

Round 2: Magneto vs all Metalbenders

For this round, the metalbending team consists of: Toph (young and old feats apply), Lin, Suyin, Wei and Wing Beifong, Kuvira, Korra (earth/metal only), Ho Tun, Penga, the Dark One (Toph's metalbending students from the comics)

Round 3:

The metalbending team is the same as it was for round 2

For this round, Magneto is grounded and cannot fly

Who wins?

But I want to point out that Toph can sense him and anybody else with her other senses.

There is not much the metal benders can really do here, I am afraid. Magneto is just in a league of his own when comes to mental manipulation. And as awesome as the Melon Lord is, there is no situation other than a sneak where she wins.

I mean...

Yeah as much as i love ATLA im gunna have to say magneto wins this one. He is just two powerful. He legit picked up the golden gate bridge with his mind. Anything toph or any of the other earthbenders throw at him he will just block it simply by thinking.

Magneto can do what a team of other benders can do, by himself (even more). I would say magneto wins all rounds.

The metalbenders might squeak out a win on round 2, thanks to the ability to earthbend. Are the Avatarverse characters wearing any metal on them?

Also, Magneto isn't as superior as some would like to believe. He might be able to lift heavier objects, but he can't throw things with as much force as the Avatar characters. He's also MUCH slower, and should be rather easy to tag with earthbending. However, if the team tries to win with sheer metalbending, their going to lose out. Magneto can stop a bullet after it's fired from a gun. (Unless its aimed at Kennedy...For some reason.)

Mags is to strong, the metal they try to fight him with will be their down fall.

Mags raw power and precision feats make it entirely possible that he just levitates and crushes them all. Only chance here is that he over looks someone who can earthbend fast.

Strangely enough, he's so fragile that really all it would take is a earth pillar to knock him down....

They can all use earth attacks too (except round 3), so an earth pillar is entirely possible

Now....Toph solos round 3 with an earth stomp

I feel like this is especially not a stomp/spite or an easy majority for Movie Magneto that people may make it out to be.

Magneto is powerful, he can move huge structures of metal. But is he agile with his powers? He can't move the littlest of things while Mystique embarrassed him in the end in DotFP with metal!

I will reserve my opinion on the battle until someone shares my views.

@arcus: Round three is the only round in which they have a chance...

Magneto doesn't simply control metal, he controls the actual concept of magnetism, and is a powerhouse of complexity in that regard.

Ferrous metals just happen to be a part of that control. While location could be a factor, any place that has a bit of metal anywhere near would automatically give Magneto the win.

Magneto can levitate himself by manipulating the magnetic forces around him and there would be no way to do this with simple metal control.

Also, while Toph manipulates metal via bending the earth fragments within it, Magneto has indirectly manipulated vast amounts of earth material by manipulating the metal surrounding it. The guy moved a entire chunk of bridge across a body of water without the bridge itself crumbling apart, that takes massive control over not just metal, but the earth material in between metal coils. He did the same thing again by lifting an entire stadium, while keeping it in one piece, and simultaneously controlling several sentinels, proving not only his power over magnetism, but also his ability to focus on and manipulate vast amounts of matter in different ways, all simultaneously.

He also has the ability to sense metal he can't see (metal sense) like when he yanked the enormous metal bunker from under the White House or when he pulled a submarine out of water. Magneto has several feats of raw power, control, and complex manipulation as a whole that outstrips Toph's, who is the better overall bender on her team. He has reacted to and negated the path of bullets and has also redirected them. He has also turned metal projectiles into weapons by launching them as if they were bullets.

He has also controlled the trajectory of a bullets (forcing one to follow Mystique) he wasn't even making visual contact with and this was while he was in the middle of combat inside of a building.

Keep in mind, Magneto has ripped iron from someone's bloodstream on panel and that was after he had been deprived of using his mutant ability for several days and was not at full capacity...and this is Movie magneto, comic magneto would end the Avatar verse.

Toph's SS only works on objects making contact with earth. If Magneto takes flight, all she has to rely on is her hearing and her ability to detect airborne earth material, which is helpful, but not always reliable as it has been exploited before.

She MIGHT be able to detect him in flight, but Magneto's control of magnetism is more complex and absolute than the Beifong's control of earthbending and due to him being able to manipulate magnetic fields, he could literally render himself immune to Toph's detection since his control over metal in general largely outclasses hers and she definitely isn't bending any metal against him successfully as he can both sense and see whatever she throws at him.

Round 3 is the only round in which the team has a chance. If they act first and if Mags remains on the ground, they can definitely take it. This of course, is assuming that he doesn't rip the iron from their blood first.

Unless Toph has a LOT of earth and Magneto has no type of metallic matter to use, I don't see her winning, at least not easily anyway. She has a chance with pure earth, but that's if he doesn't detect iron in her blood first...

Mystique had to add extra iron to that guy's blood, which was the only reason he was able to manipulate it

Remember Toph's not alone here, she's with a team all rounds

@arcus: That still shows his ridiculous control over even microscopic amounts of metal and even then, he took that small amount of iron and shaped into a platform and destructive projectiles which he used to escape simultaneously, that is control far beyond the Avatar verse and he was expanding and sculpting the metal effortlessly.

The numbers aren't really a factor in R 1 and 2 with Mags' power. He would likely crush Lin, Su, Wing, and Wei with their own armor instantly and Toph and her students aren't touching him in flight.

@arcus: It wasn't just the fact that he manipulated the iron, it was the way in which he did it and the circumstances. Korra's mercury poisoning was done so in large amounts. She literally had a bowl full of mercury in her body. That shouldn't have been too hard for any metal bender to detect especially one as skilled as Su. Even then, Jinora had to tell Su the poison was metal so she didn't even sense it until she actually put forth the effort.

Korra only bent the metal out of her body with the help of Toph's guidance. She didn't even know it was there.

Toph did bend the metal into a rock, but she created metal bending so it isn't a surprise, as I stated, let's look at Mag's circumstance.

He ripped iron from a guys blood, ( an injection needle amount) levitating him in the process, and turned that amount of iron into 3 projectile bullets in order to break out of a prison designed specifically to negate his magnetic abilities, tore the prison apart, killed the guards, created a disk to aid him in his escape while also controlling those projectiles with no movement (swirling around him as if he were an atom) and did this while he wasn't at full capacity. You just gave this guy a city of metal...

I think we can excuse Su for not immediately sensing it, Korra had only just landed and stuff

I'm not saying any of them are better than Magneto individually. But while he has great raw power, he's not always big on fast attacks and the like, and he's been known to go down to surprise attacks

This is why they have a chance in R3.

Toph, Lin and Su have been surprised before. Also, Mags has a much greater vantage in flight. Not to mention that he can shield himself with tons of metal and attack with just as much. It took Bolin, Su, and Lin to break a part of a building whereas Mags can drop entire metal structures on them. I already showed you that he can launch and control projectiles so fast and so fluently that they appear as bullets. His power and control is too vast for them. He can do several things at one time on grander scales than the Team can do together.

Magneto would wreck all of them at once. The Golden Gate Bridge is well over 900,000 tons with vehicles on it. There is nothing. NOTHING in the Avatar franchise that is anywhere close to being on that scale of power.

So you are saying that they are faster than bullets and so Avatar character are bullet timers, right?

I'm just curious in what people think about that.

Magneto takes this. His control over metal is on a whole other level. The Beifongs are good, but not that good.
