Street Level Tournament

Thought I'd take a crack at hosting my own tournament. There will be 16 teams in total. First read the rules and restrictions below and make your team!

I'm going to need 4 people who will be willing to judge these matches. I'm also going to act as a judge. You may judge as well as participate, but obviously you can't judge your own fight or show any kind of bias. In each fight, after debating is closed and voting starts, you must explain in detail why you chose one participant over the other. Remember, it's not so much about who necessarily has the best team (although important), but who is most convincing about how their team is going to win.

Rules and Restrictions

• Characters must be street level (obviously)
• Characters are first come first serve. Different versions are allowed.
• Strength is limited to 5 tons.
• Speed is limited to below Spider-Man/Spider-Man related characters
• Healing Factor is limited to slightly accelerated (I'll determine)
• Durability is tricky. I'm going to say a little over peak human. Maybe they can take an arrow and go on for a little longer, or take blunt damage better than a normal human, but if they're too resistant to conventional forms of damage they're too much
• No Telepathy above mind reading
• No telekinesis/magic
• No teleporting
• No time alteration
• Energy Projection must be below Cyclops
• No sonics
• For characters such as Midnighter who have high mental processing abilities, I’ll determine if they’re eligible
• Your characters may have certain abilities removed for the purpose of the tourney. For example, you may have bone claw wolverine, Elektra without her mind-jumping, ect.
• Character must be killable
• No matter manipulation
• Characters who know eachother will have all their own knowledge on that character, along with how they feel towards them. So it wouldn't make sense to put Cap and Red Skull or Batman and Joker on the same team.
• Team must consist of 4 members
• In terms of prep you can't have characters who show above street level prep feats. If you are going to choose a character who is impressive with prep (cough Batman) just make sure the type of prep you're including isn't above street level.
• Ask me any questions if you're unsure, and have fun!
• If your character has an ability that isn't very well known please mention it to me so I can determine if it's okay for he tournament. I'm not an expert on every character. Also, if someones character is too powerful point it out to me and I'll do some research, or even better, provide scans/videos. Thanks.

How this is going to work

16 Teams. Four characters to a team. 4 rounds.

After you win a round you may select two items of gear from your opponents team for you to use in the next round.

The rounds will all have a unique setting each, and I can confirm that one round in particular will allow a decent amount of prep time. You must make a team of 4 characters. All forms of media are welcome as long as they fall into the rules. Other than that, happy debating!

The strength limit suggest nothing beyond peck human.

@docnick: You're good to go. I'm about to change the ruling on strength, and rules may change as it goes, so if you need to edit your team let me know.

@juiceboks: Venom and Scarlet Spider are too powerful (check the rules). Not entirely sure about Creeper but I'll let you know on that. Taskmaster is fine

@vintage_spiderman: Matter manipulation/elasticity is too complicated at times to regulate, and Mr Fantastic's type of prep isn't suitable for the Tournament so you can't have him, other than that your team sounds fine.

@i_like_swords I'll switch them for Crow from Deadman Wonderland and Wesker from RE

@i_like_swords: So what will the strength limit be?

@i_like_swords okay how about Daredevil, Black Panther, Konohamaru, and Ayane

@juiceboks: Wesker is too fast and too durable. Crow seems fine, apart from the "Invisible Black" technique he uses. What kind of physical stats does he have?

@dondave: Would you like to be a judge, Mr Law? ;p

@the_legendary_supersaiyan_hulk: I've set it to 1.5 tons. That sound alright?

@vintage_spiderman: That sounds fine to me as long as you're sure Ayane isn't breaking any rules. I'll stick your team in.

@i_like_swords: Sounds really low to me lol

@the_legendary_supersaiyan_hulk: Just don't want some characters to be too overpowered so I'm trying to keep it close. Okay how about I set it to 5 tons?

@i_like_swords What's the durability limit then? And the speed limit is now below superhuman right? Crow is fast enough to blitz the soldiers at Deadman Wonderland pretty easily(for what that's worth). He hasnt displayed much in the realm of raw strength. Durability is nothing too special either.

@juiceboks: I said I'd regulate the durability of characters. I'll put an appropriate setting soon. Speed isn't below superhuman it's below Spider-Man and related characters (Scarlet, Agent for example). Well if Crow is below Spider-Man in speed he's fine. How many soldiers did he blitz, and define blitz in this context.

@juiceboks: Seems like a pretty OP move for this tourney but if we were to say he couldn't use it, he should be fine. Just make sure he abides by the rules and it's cool. Who's your fourth character?

@i_like_swords I'll decide in a little bit. By the way about Soveriegns team. Kakashi is most certainly on Spider Man's speed level. And Fantomex has a hax ability as well.

@juiceboks: Hardly... I have scans of all of Kakashi feats, his speed is Wolverine level, tops. He doesn't have a single reaction or movement speed feat that puts him on Spidey's level.

@sovereign91001 First off your wrong about the wolverine speed comparison thing because he's a lot faster, secondly he still has tons of abilities that make him to powerful for this tourney like: kamui, lightingblade, eight gates utilization to an extent, shadow clones, and couple hundred other techniques he hasn't even show cased yet.

@diredrill: So is that basically those characters with the bracketed characters abilities/powers? If so sounds okay.

@sovereign91001 You can't seriously be trying to pass off Kakashi as peak human at best. Even so, like someone else already said he has a whole slew of ninjutsu that make him well above street level.

@the_legendary_supersaiyan_hulk: every time I use Kakashi it always comes back to the Kamui thing lol. It's no different if I picked AOA Blink and tried to telecut/dismember someone. I'd just assumed telecut was banned (as it usually is in these tourneys) and proceeded to use it in the way he's used it for 90% of his feats...defensively. If @i_like_swords rules that telecut is legal... well then everyone will pick teleporters and it's a non-issue, if he rules tele-cut is illegal (which I expect he will) it at best gives Kakashi a solid counter to projectiles and inantimate objects, still shouldn't be an issue :)

@sovereign91001: @juiceboks: @vintage_spiderman: If you guys could show me some scans showing that Fantomex is breaking the rules/has some OP abilities I'll consider taking him out. I'm not sure right now. Sovereign, can you tell me the extent of Fantomex's misdirection ability? Is he able to literally hypontise someone into doing whatever he wants or is he able to make them take a wrong step or throw a bad punch? If his misdirection is too much that a lot of characters have no defense to it I'd have to take him out. Same thing with Kakashi, if any of you can show me exactly where he is OP I'll consider taking him out too.

A shadow clone, one... he has low chakra he's never made more than one at a time. Freaking Konohamaru can make a shadow clone and he's in the tournament.

Lmao; how are you going to judge a character off of abilities he hasn't shown on pannel? Do you know what Hypebole is? That 1,000 jutsu is hyperbole.

He can create an illusion where you'd think your ally was your enemy or he wasn't there stuff like that. If he's Overpowered I'll switch him for Blade.

Kakashi on the other hand falls within the limits.

@juiceboks: he uses some form of telekinesis right? I said no telekinesis in the rules so he's out too.

@i_like_swords Not only did he survive a point blank wind blast that razed a good portion of the battlefield. But he came back later to block a lightning blast with no noticeable injuries.

@i_like_swords Who? Vergil? He can lift cars and other metal objects sure but that's not telekinesis. And even then he hasnt lifted anything that breaks the strength limit.
