If jean goes phoenix force, the avengers are incinerated. Also professor x can permanently shut down their brains in a split second. Although the twins, hulk, and thor could put up a fight for a while. However quicksilver (DoFP) is faster than quicksilver (AoU) considering that DoFP quicksilver can move bullets with no effort while quicksilver(AoU) carelessly and quite heroically I may add, caught the bullets with his freakin body killing him. Yep i made a decision, X-men crush the avengers.

He absorbed almost all the energy of a nuke with no problem. The avengers going to have a tough time bringing him down.

Yea Phoenix doesn't solo. She gets a giant hole in her chest via hulk jump fist punch

bad writing or plot device. He was still frozen and could not do anything. He took gunfire from multiple gun men with Machine guns like nothing. Yet a coin tossed at him ,casually might I add, he all of a sudden can't do anything about it. Ok.....

Plus Xavier could have stopped him from doing anything at all, no one can tell how Xavier was affecting him.

Plus in X-men day of future past we see the same Xavier taking control of Magneto and use Mags own powers to move metal to help someone who was trap. So it can be said Xavier can control others powers while he is in their mind. So I don't see why he could not do the same to shaw who almost absorbed a nuclear bomb.

@jestersmiles: I think he had to manually tank the kinetic energy rather than it happening automatically, and then when he was being shot at he was expecting to constantly be hit and was just constantly doing it. TBH I think if you were able to catch him completely off-guard he would take damage like a normal human.

OT: Erik crushes the Iron Man suit with Tony inside, uses Cap's shield against him, maybe takes Thor's hammer away from him, shoots Hawkeye with his own arrows and shoots Natasha with her own guns. Or Charles mindrapes them. Or Peter speedblitzes them. Or Jean goes Pheonix and annihilates them all. Or Shaw tanks enough energy to overpower them.

Regardless, mutants win.

Why wouldn't his powers stop working when Charles was in control of him?

In days of future past he controls Mags power while controlling him. So he can affect others powers. Plus if he let shaw use his powers it was over because he just absorb a nuclear bomb. so xavier was stuck, if he let shaw use his powers GG, if he did not, well we know what happen.

No you have no idea that how this shaw's powers worked. So at best that just a guess. Any who I already explained and showed that Charles can control others powers while he in their mind and why he could not let Shaw use his powers. He already had absorbed a full nukes worth of energy. Everyone in the intimidate area would have died.

TP. While no one in the avengers has a way to deal with Shaw or Xavier or X-men's quicksilver.

It's entirely different to stop someone using passive powers

If xavier could switch them off and on he could cure rogue, or cyclops...or anyone really (there powers just come to mind when I think of annoying destructive powers)

I agree X Men should win 7 out of 10 times but I don´t think Phoenix could solo, she couldn´t kill Wolverine.

@payneintheass: which is just a good feat for Wolverines healing factor. No one in MCU Avengers have shown that level of healing so I believe they're done for.

Avengers have no TP resistance in the movies so x-universe wins. They have phoenix too

Those are the X-Men's only chance of winning, otherwise, a pissed off Thor solos. Add in Hulk and it's really a done deal.

Xavier Solo's, Phoenix Solo's, Magneto and Shaw are both very hard to put down. I love the avengers but there are just too many significant threats for them to take out.
