Debaters Hall of Fame Round 6 Voting

Yeah, that's exactly why he hasn't made it on yet. Perhaps in one of the future hall of fame voting threads, people could link some of the debates of the older viners so that people can see what it was like back then and how good some people like Forever were. I mean, if it's gonna be a hall of fame, you gotta have the best of the best and not just good debaters who are well known.

It's because he didn't make the first round, probably for some silly reason like not being here for a full year at the time or being just under the cut or something, then he wasn't as active so not enough people knew that he really should have been on every single voter's list. Users now mostly don't even know who he is so he's not likely to ever be inducted even though he really should have been in the very first group.

I've been here for a long time and I don't even remember he debating much in my time. I've seen him contribute to a debate only a hand full of times, unfortunately.

@strafe look to a lot of old Black panther threads. Superman vs Molecule man, and early DC vs Marvel threads. I read CV battles for years before I actually joined the site. back then I pretty much only debated on DC boards. i first kicked off membership on CV when some of my old sparring partners like 1stman and Vuviper ( another HoFer) got less active on DC boards ( there was no point being the only one on the site who debated instead of continually post the same statement).

Oh cool the voting has started, i feel i should vote for people who i believe are expert in one field or another from my past experience:

Beatboks1 (always seemed like an expert in the classic days) (@beatboks1: I would honestly be surprised if you dont make it among the top 5)

czarny_samuael (personally think he's a bit biased in regards to Thor and Silver surfer, but i always saw him as more of a thor expert than anyone else)

Mercy_ (well she's just too funny what i can i say)

Citizen Bane (i will be shell shocked if he doesnt get the majority vote by a massive massive margin)

Jashro44 (our beloved spidey expert, i know there are few more to claim that title but he is only one i have had the pleasure of debating for and against)

@Vance Astro: Vance i am actually honestly surprised , you are probably one of the most regular here and you would probably know who among the list deserves who win. I know you would say i dont care, but i dont understand why. Is there any particular reason why one of the most popular, regular debater/ moderator, doesnt care who makes it to the hall of fame and who doesnt? Did anything happen that put you off from hall of fame threads or anything?

@Killemall: I'll take a punt as to Vance's stance ( if he doesn't mind). I think he's of the opinion that those that he'd vote for will either get in without his vote ( like CB) or those that he would want to see inducted won't because they are no longer active or not as active ( e.g. Forever, precise, Illitrucy, Andeferne, etc) so are not known by many current users. I could be wrong ( and apologize to Vance if I've overstepped) and by no means do I mean to put words in his mouth.

I prolly deserved to make it in the last edition but not this one though,have'nt done any real debating in almost 6-7 months so no reason for me to even be mentioned here.

My vote wouldn't make a difference, nor does anyone actually care whether I vote or not. I don't have any comments or choices, but one reason I won't vote is because some names mentioned don't have much of my respect, and without that respect, I can't be arsed to vote for them (despite the consensus of those already having voted). In other words, people I would have voted for are already being voted for by the majority of others, and me voting for them, too, won't help my pride. /runs on.

Well he would have been to be honest in last year HOF, people were nominating and voting for him but the rule was whoever makes the hall of fame thread (the creator of the thread) doesnt get to take part. I have no doubt he will be among the top 3, perhaps second only to Bane.

I'm not going to say who but I disagree. Some of them don't even debate anymore, you're far ahead some of those underlined IMO but I won't say who. I'd put you second to Bane, though unfortunately, Bane has left for a month or two. So he won't even see himself in the HoF.

I think you should be in. Have I voted for you? Because if I haven't, then count me as you're vote.

Yes #1 and 2 are ahead by a bit, but #5 is only one point ahead. I think I'm going to leave it open just for a bit longer.

This is only semi-related, but I'd like to request my name be taken off the nominees list. This is supposed to be a best debaters HOF, not a most popular ones. I barely debate anymore and haven't really done so since I started on this account and ditched my previous one over two years ago. It's not my thing, it's not something I take a lot of pleasure in anymore and by proxy of that, it's not something I should be recognized for. There are many people on that list who deserve this far more than I ever will and even more so not on the list who do. So in the future, in the spirit of this being the best and not just the most well known, well liked or most popular, I'd appreciate being left out of the considerations.
