Ghost Rider with 1 HP after battling World War Hulk would trash any Dante all day.
Dante vs Ghost Rider
Can somebody give one solid reason on why they believe GR wins against Dante..?
there are literally 11 pages worth of perfectly good reasons

Still no reason though, if there are 11 pages worth of perfectly good reasons, name just one..
@reno117: ok...
Penance Stare
the fact that he can go toe to toe with Mephisto in his own Dimension
the fact that Thor couldnt KO Ghost Rider
the fact that Ghost Rider tooled around Dr. Strange like he was nothing (which is something Dante will never be able to do)
@cadencev2 can probably name 5 more
GR whups him because he's a overconfident ass face who has not saved humanity as much as his dad did and wants to get paid for it. Pretty sure his selfishness is something penance stare would accuse him as guilty. Plus GH is near skyfather, nothing on DMC is on a level the Silver Surfer is. His games paint him as a inconsiderate, lazy, barely mature freeloading broke ass demi god/devil who has no intention of caring about anything other than having fun, getting paid or flirting with chicks and waits till something from hell comes out to take action for free. It's personal when it's about a family issue, if he has so much heart why hasn't he closed the portal from hell to the real world for good like his dad.
Nero in the future probably has to succeed where Dante fails to actually be a greater hero that beats back the forces of hell for good.
These reasons right here are why Ghost Rider Stomps
Has Dante killed innocent people?
never. played all the games, read all the books, and watched the anime and dante's soul is pretty clean. he makes it a point not to kill innocent people especially humans. add that with the fact that he has a near instantaneous healing factor and is immune to hellfire, ghost rider doesnt have options to put dante down with
@cresshadow: In that case penance stare wont work. Still think Johnny wins.
@zackg: if he does, it'll be by the skin of his teeth or dumb luck. I love both but dante has too many options on top of him being just as strong as ghost rider and hilariously faster
@cresshadow: In that case penance stare wont work. Still think Johnny wins.
Yeah it would.
Has Dante killed innocent people?
Innocent people does not matter. All that matters is if Dante cause pain and suffering whether against good guys or bad lol. That is how the PS works.

Pretty much.
@gingerpenny: No Johnny beats Dante with ease.
@cresshadow: He's killed humans(evil humans), he even threatens to shoot them in the manga adaptation of 3. Dante considers hunting/killing demons more fun and a hobby than a matter of justice and duty. Dante has compassion for human life, but deep down he's still at his core a physical representation of of a demons nature, arrogant and haughty, prideful, playful in killing, and sinfully motivated(he wants the stylish life, the power(of hitting the jackpot), the money and the chicks).
GH would easily find him guilty.
@danteisterrible: that's not how that works tho lol Dante has never brought harm to an innocent soul in his life and that is what's required for the PS to work. Just look at WW hulk for example, hulk went around and waged war on the people who sent him to space and when ghost rider came to stop him and zarathos looked at his soul, he saw that hulk was just in his rage and left him alone. If no innocent blood was spilt then no PS. besides, even if Dante was a serial killer, we've seen him resist and dominate the effects of hellfire burning his soul in the first game. This is an uphill fight for rider
Ghost Rider stomps him, the PS will work, Dante has done things that he regrets, and the PS will find him guilty. It can work on anyone who has commited sin and has only not worked on beings of higher power.
Dante has sinned as per the characters quirks are based around being inhumanely careless and hedonistic.
-Dante doesn't follow societies rules or owes lives on give as much as he takes from human necessities like food, rent, and actual cleanliness
-Purely arrogant and self destructive, he doesnt have a single consideration of his own behavior and going on with making it difficult to make things orderly
-Perverted to the point hes flirt with his clone of a mom in fight to the death
-Sucks at raising kids or working with them as a responsible older figure, his hubris makes them getting killed more possible.
-Likes to rile people up and joke around due to his overly invincible abilites and overconfidence in his looks and skills. Hes pretty much the sin of pride
@batmanandrobin: Hmm, I feel like that's a touch harsh. As far as I recall Dante's only ever nasty when dealing with demons. He's never hurt anyone who didn't have it coming. He taunts the demons because making them angry is the best way to get them to make a mistake so he can defeat them. It's purely tactical as Dante is indeed aware of his own limitations.
He gave Nero the Yamato when he saw that he needed it more, tried to patch things up with Virgil more than once, befriended Lady and Trish, both of whom tried to kill him, tried to keep Nero from having bad blood on his hands and sacrificing himself to save the lives of his crew.
Also, he's actually pretty humble if you think about it. A guy with the powers of a god choosing to live like a mortal and work to earn his keep like everyone else. You can tell bc he has trouble paying his bills. This is likely because he works for free a lot just on principal.
Not saying he wins, just saying that he's not worse than the average person. Actually quite a bit better considering what he's been through.
@essentiallyheroes: Dantes a dick though and a careless and underachieving one at that who does things for the fun of it and to stoke his overpowered ego, just not a huge one like Travis Touchdown or Deadpool, and that is why GR will easily kill him and condemn his soul. The fight would be easy to Johnny, but Penance Stare is one shot.
I know that this forum is 13 years old but as someone who loves both Ghost Rider and Devil May Cry, I feel like I have to input my own 2 cents.
I've read some of the replies saying that Penance Stare would make Dante feel ALL the pain he's inflicted. Upon revisiting some sites to refresh on how both of their powers work as well as their feats. Ghost Rider absolutely fucking slams Dante, and I like Dante more then Rider.
Dante by the end of DMC 5 is insanely powerful, at least world-class destruction without Sin DT and with Sin could probably wipe out the Solar System.
Ghost Rider wipes out the Solar System no fucking problem, the dude is able to tank hits more powerful than a nuke with about 50 megatons of force and just regenerate and dish out similar if not MORE FUCKING POWER to World Breaker Hulk who was creating earthquakes by walking. Sure Dante has pretty good regeneration and durability which only increases with DT and SDT but the force of the actual sun? I highly doubt that.
That's not even mentioning GR's powers outside his physical capabilities. But I'm getting to far ahead. Let me list out their stats so people can get a clearer idea of my thought process. I'll be using Vs Battle Wiki stat types for simplicity. This is based off of what I've seen, as I haven't read many GR comics nor read the DMC manga due to how broke I am but have done research into their abilities for similar ideas.
However I'll also be putting some rules into place as Dante's arsenal changes at the start of each adventure.
Dante's equipment: Devil Sword Dante, Ebony + Ivory, Shotgun. This is all the weapons Dante has at the time of the fight, keep in mind he still has his abilities.
Dante: Reg / DT / Sin DT
Attack Potency: City / Island / Star
LiftingStrength: Class K / Class M / Class Z
StrikingStrength: City Block / City / Island
Durability: Mountain / Island / Country
Speed: (This depends on which STYLE he's using, with Quicksilver he's fast enough that, to him, time is basically stopped but by the time 5 rolls around he either a: doesn't use it or b: can't use it. Since he's still far from a Demon's prime age and has at least a couple hundred more years until then, as demons naturally grow stronger with age, I'll go with a.)
Hypersonic / Relativistic / FTL
Stamina: Superhuman, he can't fight forever, but it'll be a long time before he becomes too exhausted to swing his sword.
Range: (This is just the range of his attacks since they'll be starting about a city block from each other) DSD: Several Meters. Ebony + Ivory: Hundreds of Meters. Shotgun: Tens of Meters
Ghost Rider, Specifically, Johnny Blaze: Most commonly seen with a chain, shotgun, and motorcycle
Attack Potency: Solar System (though some comics show almost Galaxy)
Lifting Strength: At least Class E as a regular Hulk was able to lift up a mountain and Ghost Rider is physically much stronger than Hulk's stronger incarnations
Striking Strength: Large Star (Some argue Galaxy - Low Multiversal)
Durability: Galaxy (Walked away from a hit from Thor with no damage)
Speed: At least Hypersonic+ with his motorcycle but has kept up with Thor who was going Massivley FTL+
Stamina: Superhuman (Not sure if he's ever been seen tired so could be Infinite)
Range: Ten's of Meters (But has been shown to extend his chain even further)
Now I fucking LOVE Dante and DMC as a whole, but in this case, Dante gets executed maybe 1 hour into the fight, less if Ghost Rider hits him with the Penance Stare which only works if a. the person has a soul b. the person has harmed an innocent and c. the person feels guilty.
Dante may be a really cocky son of a bitch at times but he's actually a really good guy who feels immense guilt towards all the tragedies that happen around him, even if he isn't the propagator. As such, Ghost Rider takes home the victory.
Backing Ghost Rider but it seems like they'd have a lot of trouble doing meaningful damage to one another
@zackg: He threatened Morison and threatened to shoot a human Mook more than ones in the novels, bump Ghost Rider wins.
