The Walking Dead cast is placed on a world where the rage virus (28 days later and 28 weeks later films) recently took dominance, can they survive?

R1: The infected can starve to death.

R2: The infected don't starve to death.

Stipulations:

  • The Walking Dead cast consists of all members ever of Rick's group.
  • The cast is composite (comics and TV show feats).
  • They have standard knowledge on the virus.

They survive both rounds, but Round 2 will be a lot more difficult since the infected can't starve to death. These zombies are far more dangerous than the walkers in the TWDverse due to having much more speed and being far more brutal and agile, but TWD team have the numbers, firepower, and knowledge to survive.

@black_panther18: Do you think there will be heavy casualties?

Round 1 will incur few casualties for Rick's group. They'll just wait for the zombies to die of starvation and they will kill some along the way. A few members might do something critically stupid and will die. As long as they don't go on the offensive and they continue to play it safe, the group will see minimal casualties.

Round 2 will see many in Rick's group die, but not enough to tear down the foundation of the group or threaten its unity. They will hold on long enough to survive this cause they got the numbers, teamwork chemistry, and resources, but the fact that starvation won't be an issue for the zombies, the group will have to use up more resources and take more risks in order to eliminate the zombies that are closest to their location wherever that may be. If they play their cards right, the remnants of the group won't suffer a familiar fate as their lost ones. Staying in a "base of operations" like the prison will reduce the casualties, but if they try to act like nomads, more people will unnecessarily die.

They might clear round 1 if they play it smart, but round 2 is basically a death sentence. Speed combined with not dying due to hunger is no joke.

Round One: A good number make it, they need to drastically change their M.O. though. Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Jesus and Glenn are the most likely survivors.

Round Two: Eventually they'll die, probably within a year, the infected and the infection itself is just too volatile. If they retain their speed and aggression indefinitely, yeah, eventually they're gonna get you. Jesus would more than likely survive the longest.

@agencyagent34: well nope, TWD zombies are not running and freaking vomitting blood just to infect you, or even rage punching at someone. Even Tyrese cleared a gym full of zombies in the comics. While in the 28 days or weeks later 2 or 3 zombies you need to run the hell for your life while in walking dead they can easily lure, evade or kill 3 zombies.

They might all die quickly if they infected don't sleep or get weak in the cold. A rage-fueled Shane, Governor, and Rick would be scary to face off against.

@getout: They would need to change their strategies/MO but the Walking Dead cast is still DRASTICALLY tougher than the 28 days later cast.

@getout: They could survive round 1 with minimal casualty, if they try too secure one location get enough foods and wait it up. Round 2 there is a large possibility that they get wipe out, just a question, they'll get wiped out if they get emotionally shocked seeing one of them die or try to be a hero, the only rule that you can have in a rage zombies apocalypse is run as fast as you can and don't look back or unless they get a hold of the smoke and suit that was used in 28 weeks later, they can wipe out awhole lot of zombies with that.

The main group survive, but the weaker ones die A LOT sooner (like Andrea, Beth, probably Carl, the old dude with the hat).

@getout: Yes. But casualties rise the longer the threat exists. So, round two, eventually they might go. I'm interested in the human threat too.

I'm not sure man. Rick Click is tough, but alot of times they survive cause Walkers are slow.

For instance, imagine if a herd of fast moving Infected attacked the farm instead in season 2.

Also, you don't need to be bit to turn, get their blood in your eye or mouth, it's over. Lastly, the turn rate is MUCH faster. Seconds instead of hours.

The infected stomp both rounds. CQC is out for obvious reasons, and they'll quickly blow through their ammo trying to shoot them.

given your infected so easily, and given theyre too used to slow zombies, id say they get eventually ambushed and slaughtered

TC said they have standard knowledge of the virus so why would they treat these guys like their own universes zombies lol?

I see them easily clearing round 1, esp with Carl before...well you know

Round 2 is tricky and how long is the goal to survive? Is this like survive until the military comes and clears them out or forever ect? I see them clearing but there absolutely will be some careless casualties that happen later with them assuming theyd die from starvation.

The Walking Dead team in general can't handle their own virus, I'd say a group of average humans would do a better job at handling the rage virus than these incompetent bozos.

@jack_hart: They can cqc as long as the blood doesn't get in any open wounds or in their eyes/mouth.

Anyways, if they have prior knowledge on the infected then they could probs survive round 1, round 2 is harder to pin down tho.
