Captain america should be physically stronger, batman more skilled , but i dont see how skill comes into play in an arm wrestling contest.

Cap FTW.

@Spidermanfan1461: you see this is a totally fair and quite evenly matched battle

Apparently, Batman's has benched pressed 1 ton before, but I think that was just hearsay.

The biggest amount batman has pressed is a scan of him benching 500lbs.

Batman throws an explosive batarang between the table to stagger Cap's kong-fu grip - then proceeds to use his martial arts skills to try and wiggle out a win against Cap. Then with a quick grab from the utility belt for some knock-out gas proceeds to outlast Cap holding his breath for a win,

Batman wins.

Yes because knock-out gas is so effective against cap.

Cap wins this. Too much stamina. Too much strength.

Batman benches 1,000 pounds. There are weights on each side, if one says 500 the other must also be 500.

Then by that logic cap is benching 2200.

The weights Cap was using were automated, the amount of weight presented on that side represents the total, and you can either raise or lower it at the press of a button.

Batman was using real weights.

Ed Brubaker:

"I agree with parts of a lot of people's comments here and elsewhere. But I think it's a bit funny to see people get so bent out of shape when a guy who's given something called the "Super Soldier Serum" turns out to be a bit more than the average human. He's been leaping out of the windows of eight story buildings and across city streets in NYC, dodging bullets, doing amazing feats of speed and strength, since I started reading the book in the early 70s.

My take has always been that Cap is the peak of human POTENTIAL. What humans might someday be able to do, physically, he already can. If it was just about having an olypic-level athlete, do you really think all these groups and scientists would have been wasting 50plus years trying to replicate the SSS?

All I've done is have him say outloud what's always been pretty clear to me as a fan of the character. He's always been a lot stronger and faster than the average well-trained athlete. And I've always hated the Batman comparisons. Batman trained himself, Cap got given a miracle serum. I'm not making that up or changing anything.

Daredevil is more like Batman, physically, and yet in Born Again, Cap races by him so fast he's a breeze. As for Cap running 60mph. In the comic, I think he says he can run a mile in a little over a minute when he HAS to. It's not even implied that he can keep that up all day. It's a full-on burst of speed, when he has to."

Brubaker has worked for DC and Marvel. He is credited for writing an arc for Catwoman, Batman, Dare Devil, Iron Fist, and Captain America for 8 years.

Cap is stronger, so he should win; but Batman is the better tactician. He'd be better with things like locking his arm, and isn't too far from cap in strength. Batman benches at least 1000 lbs (Batman 655), while on this page there's a scan of Cap at 1100.

Since the strength is so close and Batman's the better Tactician (but not infinitely better), I'd say they probably stalemate. Both going at it for so long that trouble interrupts them and they decide to call it a tie.

Cap is stronger. Bats is only a match for Cap due to his skill. In raw stats Cap is definitely higher.

I am not a fanboy either of them, but in arm wrestle, the tactic count a lot. If cap intend to use the worst technics like a noob, while batman use his best, then he have chance.

Hmm mm, yes, when you come to think of it, if Batman uses proper tactics and good arm wrestling techniques, he might be able to beat the Hulk as well in an arm wrestle... pff it's not like strength plays a role... I mean... pffft!

batman uses his knowledge of physics and angular mechanics to win, whilst cap just uses brute strength.

Yes but that brute strength is powerful enough to overwhelm his 'knowledge' or if we go by your logic, batman should be able to beat Spider-man in an arm wrestle as well.

@RudeBomberBoy01:well no, because Spider-Man has a far more massive strength advantage.

Cap = 1100 pounds

Spidey = 10 tons.

Not even near the same ballpark.

Cap wins...he's stronger and doesn't experience muscle fatigue..which is what decides arm wrestles when the competitors are close in strength.

but yeah, Caps should take this, his 'brute force' should be too much for Batman's arm wrestling techniques.

It seems you know nothing about arm wrestle... I read what others wrote, cap is around twice, or less than twice as strong as batman. If they didn't wrong, then batman could win... believe or not.

I love the assumption that Batman has "Arm Wrestling Techniques"

It's more likely that Steve has more experience in Arm Wrestling than Bruce does. He was a soldier after all.
